For future reference, I'm the old grey one and she is the young pretty one  :)

No, don't think I linked to music

I'm sorry -- yes, I meant Jane.

Funny story. I bought her a Camelback water carrier (you wear it on your back and suck the water through a straw) because I couldn't carry enough water for both of us in this heat. She thought it was the NEATEST THING EVER!  She drank it ALL in the first 45 minutes  -- and peed seven or eight times before noon.

Cillaliz---I really enjoyed your photos of Barry Manilow.
I remember when "Harmony" opened at the La Jolla Playhouse in 1997..it's based on a true story about a singing group that was disbanded ( no pun intended ) by the Nazis in 1935 because several of the members were Jewish.
BK's friend Danny Burstein played the Rabbi and his real-life wife, Rebecca Luker, played his wife.
Songs got good reviews, book did not.

Interesting.  Here's a link to part of what he said and sang Every Single Day  http://youtu.be/ZNK07q_NxsY

Only 45 years? Seems like 4500 years some days. I remember that in 1968 I saw Richard the evening of graduation, probably the first time I'd seen him in the 67-68 school term. It was late, around 10 or 11pm, I was walking down High Street to the apartment I was living in that summer with about five other summer theatre friends, and he gave me a ride to the apartment and told me he was going into the service, After he left, I cried most of the night, He was my best friend from 1957 through high school, and i was convinced I would never see him again because he would die in Viet Nam. The lucky bastard did his service in Europe!

Beautiful story DR elmore.  I'm very glad your tears were for naught :)

I am, too!!!

He said they have done a lot of work on Harmony for a long time and that they are very excited and feel it's ready.  Of course what else is he going to say.  Will be curious about how it's received in Atlanta

Thanks Vixmom.  BK is right about his looks, but his voice was still great and full.  I don't know how people do it with the fog machines.  Just being in the audience with those things gives me a sore throat.

Yes he is !   He has three older half-siblings, only one lives at home, the other two are either in or just out of college. Two of them were there today.

They need to have another child, a girl.  They should name her Dorothy.  Then they would have Dot and Dash!

Actually, Sam isn't giving up until she gets a girl.  It could happen

Meant to say this earlier today:  I appreciated hearing how BK had been put off by the poster art (and subject matter) for HARD TIMES all these years.  I don't really recall being aware of the film back in the day, but I was definitely affected that way when the Twilight Time announcements came down the pike.  I had to keep going back to it to decide if it was something I'd definitely be interested in.  When the disc got here, I spot checked it (like I always do, even if I'm not intending to watch something right away) -- and right off the bat I knew I had a winner.

So what is it about that style of poster art?  It's a '70s thing, I think, that I can't quite define.  It reminds me of THE STING poster.  And this is often received as blasphemy so apologies in advance, but I never fully warmed up to that movie.

Anyhoo, just two cents.  Will watch HARD TIMES this week.  Probably Monday, as I usually only want to watch things seriously in the evening, it's too late now to start one, and I have another show tomorrow night (because of the outdoor venue, they don't do matinees).

Well, that certainly cleared the room.

So I guess I am indeed wide awake, and want to watch something.

What will it be?

Why am I asking you?  Especially when there's no you here?
