Back from my blood test and dental appointment.  Waiting for the Novocain to wear off before eating lunch.

Regarding yesterday's discussion of dressing up...part of my outlook probably has to do with Oregon, particularly Portland, and the way people here "dress-up"...for men, anyhow, it tends to be dressy-casual. Meaning, khakis can substitute for slacks, and polo shirts can substitute for dress/sport shirts. And jackets go with anything. Nice khaki shorts with sandals are common men's wear at matinees during the summer, though maybe not so much for an evening performance.

These are just my observations, mind you, of what I see when attending the few ballets, Broadway shows, and other theatrical events in Salem/Portland. I imagine Ashland is much the same.

The rest of the state's populous, however, only attend rodeos and tractor pulls, so their way of dressing may vary.

TOD:

I am still thinking on this...most of the rock and roll songs I am coming up with as favorites are post-1960.

And most of what I am coming up with from 1954 to 1960 are more pop, than rock and roll. Or maybe that doesn't matter.

At least that's what THEY think....I am from the Lucy Ricardo Getting in the Movies School....so I expect things will occur.

What a weird morning.  I was up at 8:45, got back into bed, was up at ten and fell asleep again and just had a telephonic call at eleven.  So, now I'm up and the morning is gone.

Here is my pet peeve o' the day:

The infernal pressing plants that stick those seals on new CD cases - the kind that identify the album title and/or artist along the edge of the case, which no longer matters because CDs aren't sold in brick and mortar stores anymore. Actually, it's not the seal that bothers me all that much, but the companies that use an adhesive that doesn't come off.  It makes it well nigh impossible to remove the seal to begin with, and even if you do, it leaves a sticky residue on the case that never does come off, and sticks to everything around it.  Grrrrr!     :P

"Goo Gone" will take it right off.  Of course, there is an argument about it not being environmentally friendly, but it works.

Peanut butter works, too.  Just smear it on and leave for about 24 hours, then wash & rinse.

I'd read that you can just use the oil that separates out from "natural" peanut butter...but who wants to wait 24 hours?

You mean nobody attends log-rolling contests and lumberjack competitions?

And the hootenannies...doesn't Portland do hootenannies?

Tried to sleep before lunch, but I was too hungry.  Eating was interesting, but afterwards I was able to sleep for an hour or so.

Watched the rapidly viral music video for the 'gay' country song by aspiring country singer Steve Grand.

I am not a big fan of current day country music (I love oldies country, though), but it was a nice enough song. Heartbreaking in the way that all of those country songs about unrequited love are.

I hope this singer does well. His songs are gonna be a big hit with the gay country/western fans in Oregon...of which there are quite a lot of.

Back from a BLT-A - saw Kat Kramer (daughter of Stanley) and chatted - and confirmed for sure that Criterion has indeed been working on It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World for a supposed November release.  Whether they make that date or not is unknown, but that's the anniversary of the film and it's also Stanley's 100th.
