DR M Barnum,

I don't believe I ever did see The Man In the Net.  Is it really Suspense Charged as the promo says?

I found it very interesting that Susan Gordon (DR Denmother) was the little girl in it.  How exciting that she is a former HHW Member.  May she rest in peace!

I will try to get it at the library or catch it on TCM .

Susan played the daughter of Red Nichols in "The Five Pennies" starring Danny Kaye!

Thanks DR Ron,

I will try to catch the movie.

How long was Susan on HHW and when did she last post?

Thank you, Slum Lord, for that clip.  And also for the Jack Jones Dance Re-Mix of THE LOVE BOAT THEME!

DR Kate, you could still be an actress. Have you tried out for any local productions?

DR M Barnum,

No I haven't but you are very encouraging.  Maybe I will.

What have you acted in?

If I recall correctly, DR DenMother was an active HHW poster during the early 2000s. She (along with DR JRand) were responsible for talking me into coming to HHW. I had interviewed Susan for a magazine called Classic Images just prior to that.

I don't recall when she left HHW, but it was not due to a dislike of this wonderful board. She had problems with some jerk stalker guy who wouldn't leave her alone, from what I understand.

Susan was a child actress from 1958 till the mid 1960s, and we all adored her. She went to school with DR Jane and BK. I had a wonderful visit with her on my first trip to NYC back in 2004. We had a lovely breakfast together and she took me around to some of her favorite shops.

Oh, and yes, THE MAN IN THE NET is a wonderful film. You would not be disappointed. It also stars Carolyn Jones and Diane Brewster.

Yes, Kate, give acting a try, if you want. Sounds like you'd enjoy it.

Because I adored Danny Kaye this was the only work she did that I was truly interested in.  I remember she wasn't happy when they shot the scene where they put the hot packs on her legs.  They were really hot and the next day in school her legs were red.

I am pleased to say I have heard from DR DERBRUCER.  He had cataract surgery and was finally able to use the computer, not that he is using it much.  I will let him know folks have been asking about him and there were birthday wishes.

T.O.D.

I am not much of a fan of Alan Ladd.  Too many shortcomings.

THE CARPETBAGGERS
THE BOY ON THE DOLPHIN
THE BLUE DAHLIA
SHANE - More for Brandon deWilde, than for Alan Ladd

I'll just bet that the Man in the Net is the Man in (the) Chair's cousin or something.

You are most welcome, DR TCB.     :)

I don't remember doing the latter.  But it sure sounds like something I would do!

They are installing a permanent new cement speed bump right outside my window.  Because, you know how people drive in church parking lots.   :)

The process is QUITE a loud one.      :P

I'm up and have been so for an hour now, dealing with various and sundried annoyances.  Think I'll go jog.  I wish I didn't have this lunch meeting, at least in the restaurant we're going to - last week's meal there was decidedly mediocre and I want to eat sooner.

Those are just the accoutrements for Crazy Cat Lady. Would it be the same? It's for a gift.

Why don't you eat before you go and then just have a small salad?  They can't ruin a salad, can they?
