I agree that the Atkins Diet is too difficult to stay on.

I think BK's counting calories is working great for him.

Yes, but it's the only diet that really works for diabetics.

Interesting.  I didn't know this.

TCB, I'm so sorry this has been so difficult. Of course you should share those feelings here! How could you not feel frustrated? My own observation is that people heal at their own pace and that must be respected. Be realistic, yes, but also stay positive because people often make recoveries that no one expected--least of all the doctors! It's so much better to live in hope than resignation.

Mega hugs!

Wife Sandy is undergoing another back surgery tomorrow morning; this time to implant a wire in her spine and a battery pack under her skin.  Hopefully, with the use of a remote device, this will reduce her constant back pain.

Vibes and prayers are appreciated.

My very best to DS Sandy! I hope it goes smoothly and she finds much relief.

Oh, and I'm up.  I was up at eight thanks to cement mixing trucks doing their dirty work on about five monstrosities being built in our quaint neighborhood, fell back asleep at nine and was awakened by the doorbell at ten - the gas company here to read the meter.

Someone's car alarm went off this morning at about 7:15...much too early for me. :P

Ugh. Hardly a day goes by in my 'hood without a car alarm. Sometimes it's daytime, sometimes it's nighttime. Most annoying.

I agree with Jane on Atkins. But you can reduce carbs without the Atkins diet.

I ate too much today and now I have the oven heating to bake the sour cream cookies I mixed and froze yesterday.  I won't bake the entire batch.

Whew!  I just updated my iPad with iOS7 - and survived!  It looks a lot different, but seems to work pretty much the same.

Keith was very upset when he couldn't use his iPad.  It said he had to download iTunes but he couldn't access his iPad to download it.  It was very complicated using his computer and took a long time.  He couldn't read his book for a day.

The jeans the world is talking about.

I am not sure of the tightness of the jeans -in order to pass an informed opinion I would need to thoroughly investigate all side sf the issue;  could  you please provide a shot  from the rear?

You are well loved  Tommy -  and I am in awe of the way you have managed under most difficult circumstances  and i only wish we were on the same coast so I could offer you more practical assistance

A political statement but I don't care

"Can I burn down your house?

No

Just the 2nd floor?

No

Garage?

No

Let's talk about what I can burn down.

No

YOU AREN'T COMPROMISING!"

May I steal this?

Let me rephrase that,

   I am stealing this!

Interesting.  I didn't know this.

Diabetics are not supposed to eat starches of any sort, such as anything wih flour, corn, rice and potatoes, all of which are worse than sugar. No overly sugary fruit, such as bananas. (I cheat too often and I really shouldn't.)

Watching second act of Book of Mormon and, well, I am laughing now. Not much, but it's better than the first act. All those white boys singing "I Am Africa" is funny.

DR TCB, you have every right to feel down, have a few moments of self-pity, or whatever...health problems ARE a downer, especially chronic ones!!

Regardless of whether your health issue(s) feel like they will never get better, or even if you know that they will in time get better...there are times that a person just feels helpless, sad, bitter, angry, or just plain uncomfortable and/or in pain.

You know we are all here with you and for you! Many hugs and vibes to you!

I couldn't have said it better.  I would add, please let us know when you are feeling down so we can give you some extra support.   Hugs!

I'm sorry, but I just can't stick around if politics is going to be discussed.  You may like the fool who thinks he's our dictator and not an elected official who does not constitutionally have the purse strings and who doesn't understand that he doesn't have the right to tell congressmen who were also elected by citizens that he doesn't have to talk to them, he doesn't have to negotiate anything and that it's all their fault.  He's worthless and I'm leaving....bye

Cilla just as we don't all agree on songs, performers, movies and shows we are not all  always going to agree on politics - lets just agree to disagree and move on ...
