Allergies are bothering me just a bit, so popped a Claritin to nip that in the bud.

You were able to nip it in the bud?

My stupid  camera battery was flat ( or perhaps I was too stupid to check) so I have no photographic evidence of the eveing's proceedings

I think one should always don their blue stockings while eating their beloved chocolate donut with peanut butter innards.

"I soiled his bluestockings with my peanut butter innards"  Wasn't that the Eleven O'clock number from DRAT THE CAT?

Thunderstorms for us today.....and of course it is a work day. Oh well.

I believe you are getting the remnants of our storm from last week.

Does DRAT THE CAT have a strong enough score to be the entire focus of a show?  I only ask because the only song from the show I know is "She Touched Me," but I have never heard the rest of the score.

Well, I recorded it and love the score dearly - all of it.  Filled with great numbers.

I saw 1776 at ACT in SF the other night.   First time ever seeing this show.  It was pretty darned amazing.  Directed by Frank Galati, just a wonderful production

I'd love to see that again. Saw it at a dinner theater in Sarasota, Fla., about 18 years ago. Same theater, the Golden Apple, did Greenwillow, She Loves Me, the Maury Yeston Phantom and more, all fine productions.

How about TITANIC at a dinner theater?  You could have submarine sandwiches, shrimp salad, and for dessert, upside down cake.

Actually I served that menu at a Titanic party I threw on April 15, 2007 in honor of the unveiling of my framed Grand Staircase print; signed and numbered by the artist and also signed by one of the last Titanic survivors.

Smart move going home early.  I never thought to put the cats in their carriers or leash a dog during storm warnings, glad I never needed to rush off with them.

I do that so they don't run off.  If a window blew out or the house was damaged they would be there with me and not running off in a panic

Whew, I am glad we don't get those around here.  Actually. I guess we do, since we just had one about 15 miles from my house last week.  Still, we don't have them very often.

I was at a good old-fashioned hymn sing, but now I am home.

Is there such a thing as a good new-fashioned hymn sing?

I'm watching the season premiere of "Scandal" and I just realized that the characters of Cyrus and the vice president, who are having a big argument together in one of the early scenes, played Meredith Grey's parents on "Grey's Anatomy."  That's funny!

How the world has changed.  The new PBS pledge drive special is "Elton John In Concert."  That just seems strange.

I am watching the Washington Huskies against the much better Stanford Cardinals.  However, two of Washington's touchdowns have been made by Bishop Sankey.  In the grandstand is Sankey's grandfather who is watching is grandson play for the first time in over 5 years.  The elder Mr Sankey was blind for the past five years, until he just recently had a highly successful cornea transplant.  It is a very touching story.

Home from the niece's bday party.  Great time with the family.  I'm now burning some CD's for "Smiley" (whom he will be called) -- my life musically per decade.  It's fun.  He presented me with 7 CD's of music he thought I'd like, and he pretty much was spot on.  Not a bit of musical theatre - and I'm more than jiggy with that.  Music certainly does create a bond, and this one is pretty amazing.
