Peut-être?

A Doris Day reference.

I'm snapping pics left and right now that I've "fixed" the camera... One last show-and-tell... I have quite a bit of Inuit art. This is one of my favorite pieces. "My New Accordian" by Pudlo Pudlat. It's a beautiful lithograph (edition of only 50 in 1989) and is featured on the cover of the book Inuit Women Artists...

Panni your place is charming.  I would like to meet your landlords they sound like nice people-but then I'm sure they are thrilled to have you as a tenant.

Jane!

Neighbor, NOT tenant!

Polanski had a tenant, but Panni is a neighbor!

There!
Even dear Abie would agree with me!

By the way - before someone corrects me - "accordian" is how it's written on the actual piece and in the listing in the catalogue. Just like bk with his "choice" for certain spellings, the artist (now deceased) chose to spell it this way. I honor her wishes.

Funny, because dalmatian is very often spelled dalmatION in the States!

Oh, well! the world is gone to the dogs!
We won't call 101 for that, hey?

Never heard OJ call his guest house habitué Kato Kaelin a "neighbor".

der Brucer (interesting: MS Word will not accept "habitue", and insists on "habitué "; but MW Dictionary will not let you look up "habitué", insists on "habitue", and then defines "habitué "  - maybe we should boycott French inflections!)

No inflection -- or inflexion -- for "habitué" here because it's not an adjective but a substantive, an adjective used as a noun!

Trader Joe's.  The locals are petitioning again to get one in the area.  I should really write them.  Is the lox good?  I am partial to Scottish lox, much better than Nova Scotia.

Short of schlepping over to the west side for hand sliced lox, yes, TJ's is pretty good.

"Schlepping for Lox" should be a production number in  "Hey, Izzy" -  the musical based on the colorful life of Isaac Bashevis Singer.

Lox - is that served with a side order of Yentls?

Yes, but then you don't need a loxative! :(

The groaning proscription is being tested mightily here tonight!

I am off to the third concert in my summer chamber music series at the Huntington Museum in San Marino.  Until later...

derBrucer...what about sons of habitues?

DRPANNI - I had the same problem with a pair of binoculars I bought some years ago.  My sister finally examined them closely and removed the plastic lens covers!!!

AND - have you heard Paul Gross do his Inuit monolog from the tv Series Due South?

So many things happening at HHW....and my computer service has been unreliable today...again...at these prices!!

I hope to be able to afford the Durbin set soon....like with my first paycheck...and I too have even read that she can be a bit hostile to folks who write to or about her...sometimes there is talk of some scandal that caused her to leave Hollywood...but I have never read the details....so who knows?  I do know I still love FIRST LOVE....

Oh, I also want to get THE BAD SEED and VILLAGE/CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED!!!

I don't mind the Olympics quite as much as MATTH....but I have to say the NBC has done a terrible job of choosing commentators....just because you used to participate in a sport, doesn't mean you can talk about it!

And Annette always called him Mr Disney...never "Walt" or "Uncle Walt".
