Thanks Matt H.  I don’t recall that interesting tidbit when watching AMC.  Next time I watch CAN'T HELP SINGING I will take a closer look at the dresses. :)

Does anyone agree that a headline I just read is not exactly in good taste (so to speak)...

Jane - I have a special treat for Abie that I bought the other day. I may pick up a toy for him when I go out later.

Elmore! i love the new photo!!! Delibes, huh? just don't try to dance, cutie!! Hope hope hope you are mending quickly. You'll be up and hopping about as good as new before you know it. (Being our age helps - time flies by, doesn't it!!!)

DRPenny O, too true!  I listened to the full scores today to COPPELIA and SYLVIA, and what great ballet scores they are.  Didn't make it to LAKME, and decided to revisit Britten's PAUL BUNYAN instead, which moves me to tears with its choral finale of "Carry her over the water" and great litany:

From a Pressure Group that says I am the Constitution
From those who say Patriotism and mean Persecution
From a tolerance that is really inertia and disillusion
  Save animanls and men!

Amazing words for a piece written in 1940, and so appropriate today.  I wish City opera would revive the piece; it's the best thing I've seen there

No pun intended "in good taste"?

Depends if she would have laughed at it.  Not knowing her reaction-I would agree with you.

Having a liesurely day.  Watching Kill Bill 2 right now - VERY disappointed in the transfer which is extremely soft.  There were lots of complaints about the first film's transfer, but I thought that was fine.  This they've been raving about and believe me it's just not up to snuff.  When Village of the Damned, a film over forty years old, is sharper than a film made last year, something is wrong with one of the transfers.

I'm so embarrassed... My camera phone has been taking blurry pictures for quite some time now. Couldn't figure out why... I just realized that the case I bought for it covers the lens with plastic...
Notice how nice and clear Abie's photo is... Not having the lens covered with a film of thick plastic really helps.

François I hope you have plans to read DRAGONHEART if you haven’t done so already.  My only complaint, it ended too soon. :)
Thanks for the Deana Durbin info.  Have you ever seen her around town?

I have TIVO programmed to record all of her movies, so far nothing.  I’m very surprised. ???

Panni that is the best picture of Abie yet!   He must be having a fun day. :D

I read that the recent DVD release of COLD MOUNTAIN was also an extremely disappointing transfer being very soft and badly mastered. I don't have it or either KILL BILL so I can't comment further.

Will it ever cool down here?  It's been hot and muggy all day today in Lalaland.  Just like yesterday.  And the day before that, too.  Not Louisiana muggy, but muggy.  And with what's happening in Florida I shouldn't complain, I know, but muggy weather makes me very cranky and trust me, Dear Readers, my cranky is NOT very pretty.

My friend has settled into the guest bedroom and we just did a Trader Joe's run so we could have lox with our bagels in the morning.  Isn't that exciting?  Isn't that too too?

Trader Joe's.  The locals are petitioning again to get one in the area.  I should really write them.  Is the lox good?  I am partial to Scottish lox, much better than Nova Scotia.

I do. So does Abie. I have the BEST landlords. In fact, they always introduce me to people as their neighbor, not their tenant.
