Well the news that iGoogle is closing down is most distressing.  It has been my HomePage for several years, and I have yet to find anything as easy to use and as adaptable.  I have looked at several, but I haven't made a choice yet.

Yahoo is okay....and Excite is okay.....but neither is as convenient or personal as iGoogle can be.

Good (late) morning, all!

Thanks for everyone's help yesterday (especially DR Jrand63) on my snagging the SUNDAY IN THE PARK video.  I realized that the one I did manage to get yesterday was the same as the one on FB, because there was no HD back then (even though the video itself said HD).  Nice to have it finally. And I also snagged two YouTube videos of mine in case they get deleted, as the OLD RED HILLS OF HOME video is on my website and I'd hate to lose that one.

I discovered something this morning that made me a bit sad, as now I realize I will miss November's Krtizerland show. It turns out that the L.A. Ovation Awards are the very same Sunday night (oddly, they are more often presented on a Monday). And I am working the Ovations as I do every year, as the live voice over announcer, or as they call me, the voice of God. Nice that this year I am also among the nominated as part of the Best Ensemble for our recent production of PARADE.

I doubt it will hurt the Krizterland audience, as mostly nominees and friends come to the Ovations. But still, it's one more Kritz show I have to miss. Booooo. :(

There was an afternoon sydicated version of TO TELL THE TRUTH on during the 70's and 80's.  When her autobiography came out (VERONICA) - Lake was on the show and was so unrecognizable that I think most of the panelists guessed one of the imposters to be her.....   It was sad....

There is lots of information and several lovely photos on this blog.

Mike Barnum's favorite Fredric March films may indeed be a sign of "The Rapture".  They are all Class A films!

I was tempted to mention Veronica Lake's last film, FLESH FEAST...but since I haven't actually seen it...but I was tempted, just for the sake of consistancy.

Topic of the Day:

Veronica Lake:  I Married a Witch (it's the only movie of hers that I've ever seen)

Fredric March:  A Song Is Born (I think it's the only movie of his that I've ever seen)

We had a special guest yesterday at the Old Actor's Lunch.  One of the member's mother-in-law was in town visiting from California.  He was going to skip the lunch, but I begged him to come and to bring here along, so that I could meet her. Back in the late 50s and early 60s this lady (writing under a pseudonym) wrote a series of six lesbian pulp fiction novels that were earth shattering to an entire generation of women.  Over the years, these books have been reissued, and today she is considered one of the pioneering authors of the LGBT revolution.

It was really an honor to meet her.

Wow, that is most interesting...what was her pseudonym? She would certainly make an interesting subject for an interview...or maybe she has done one recently, if so I would very much like to read it.

I am home from seeing my doctor:  I've lost 16 lbs, which is good news, and I have the PT referral in hand, which is even better.  Now I am craving a pumpkin muffin, bread or donut.

Congrats and congrats, Larry!  And enjoy the pumpkin muffin, bread or donut!!  You deserve it/them! :D

She wrote under the name Ann Bannon.  Google that name and you can read all about her.

DR MBARNUM - Flesh Feast is available for just a little $$$ - but it is not worth even that.  Veronica does okay in the second half of the film....but she looks pretty bad.....

Licensed In Perpetuity is the title of my new memoir.

"Perpetually Licentious" would be an interesting title, too.  I've known a few people about whom a story could be written under that title.

Thursday afternoon greetings!  Slept 'til after 9 again this morning and left about noon to do a bunch of errands and visit with Mom.  It's a beautiful day for driving about the countryside and I enjoyed the NPR talk shows on my car radio.

DR Elmore, I'm very glad to hear that you slept well last night and got good news and the referral you wanted from your doctor.

By the way, I think I've found 12 of the 16 pounds you lost...

Got to get the get while the getting is good apparently isn't easy any more.

This is a story that would be funnier than it is if it weren't true. Sounds like a Mel Brooks joke gone bad.
