Had my meeting today.  After much thought I wasn't very gung ho going into it, but decided to listen anyway.  They are interested in getting into the market here and have wanted to for 10 years but haven't been able to figure out a way to do it.  With a couple little exceptions, I have the market here.  I'm not going to give it to them without a whole lot in return.  They made and offer, but it wasn't nearly what I want. The firm really does want me and scheduled one more meeting, but I'm going to cancel it. It's a definite no.  It was a great experience because I had to really look at my challenges and my strengths and it made me realize what I have built.   Edith was thrilled I'm going to say no.   So am I  :)

I did make apples and onions a couple weeks ago.  It was very good.  I may have to make it again tomorrow.

DR Cillaliz, it's been interesting to follow this opportunity with you.  Sounds like you (and Edith) are pleased with the decision.

Time to head to band rehearsal.  Our first concert of the year is on Sunday so I don't want to miss tonight

Sandy's CD arrived today. I will listen tomorrow morning before physical therapy.  I was tempted to go tomorrow night but I have no idea when I get out of physical therapy on how I will feel.  I know it will be a good show.

The New York contingent is low these days: we've lost Noel, Tom Nondorf, TPunk, and William Orr.
Have I forgotten anyone?  I loathed Bill Lurie.

I forgot Julie! I miss her a lot.

Good for you.  It's nice to be wanted, isn't it?  Sometimes it's better though to stay on your own.

DR Jane, what Samsung smartphone did Keith just get? I have a new Galaxy Note 3. It's big (a 5.7" screen), and I am really loving it!

Thanks for the introduction, Larry!

Hello, everyone! My name is Jackson. I'm a 19-year-old Boston University sophomore, originally hailing from Orlando. I love tune-filled musicals and well-written sitcoms. My current major is Film/TV with an emphasis on  the latter. (That was indeed a DAMN YANKEES reference.)

My favorite sitcoms include I LOVE LUCY, THE DICK VAN DYKE SHOW, THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW, CHEERS, and FRASIER. (With many more in between!) I started collecting when I was about 10 and continue to enjoy finding new shows to sink my teeth into. LUCY is my favorite; as an early birthday present, my parents took me to Jamestown for her 100th birthday celebration in 2011. Nothing is as exciting as a well-constucted situation comedy.*

I was an active participant in Orlando's theatrical community for about 12 years, but really fell in love with the  works of Cole Porter after playing in a production of ANYTHING GOES. From there my love of Porter merged with a love of Ethel Merman, and I began my musical theatre collecting. My favorite composers are Porter, the  Gershwins, Berlin, Rodgers & Hart, and Arlen. (With many more in between!) It's a thrill for me to find a new score or a new song -- I just discovered Berlin's "When You Walked Out (Someone Else Walked Right In)" from the 1923 MUSIC BOX REVUE and have been playing it all day!

I'm always interested in meeting new people who love discussing the things that I do, which aside from sitcoms and musicals, also include Pre-Code cinema, XENA: WARRIOR PRINCESS, and Tallulah Bankhead.

Larry told me this was the place to be, and I look forward to joining your discussions!

Jackson

*Except, perhaps, a nice loud musical comedy overture.

DR Jackson, I think you will fit right in very nicely! However, if DR MBarnum asks you if you go to a gym or work out, run for your life!

Our resident Lucille Ball fanatic is JRand63, and I'm sure you and he will have much to discuss. I think we are quite a wonderful group of psychological studies in dementia and obsession. BK runs the loony bin and hosts the continuous party that is HHW!

This is an interesting video of a church near me in Stamford, CT. It is a Presbyterian Church known as the "Fish Church" because it is in the shape/form of a fish. It was built in the 1950s and its design is unique and award-winning. On a sunny day, the inside is truly a sight to behold. This video was captured using a small remote-control helicopter. I have performed in this church many times.

Wow!  That really is a beautiful building.

Sure is!

elmore, if you're up to it, just show up at show time and tell them you're Sandy's guest.  What about FJL?  What about Ben?  I believe they're both New Yorkers and from what I read on this board they go to LOTS and LOTS of shows.

Just sent off a humungous amount of sheet music - I used Hightail and sent it all to everyone and then I'll tell them which they should each print out - probably do that by Friday.  Added one song to our finale that will really be anthemic and great.
