There's a slim chance that a friend of mine here, who bought and LOVES the Christmas album, could join -- but as luck seems to have it this week, she too is suffering from having wrenched her back, and probably needs a couple more days of rest.  If by any chance that has markedly improved by tomorrow morning, I will let BK know right away.

Also, and regardless of which way that goes, if DR Elmore SHOULD find himself feeling up to it, I will be driving into upper Manhattan at 6 p.m. or so.  (Earlier, actually, if the other friend cannot make it.)    Oy!

I'm still at work paying invoices.  Today is the cut-off to get them paid by the end of this month.

And I'm listening to First Date.  I certainly enjoy Zachary Levi and Krysta Rodriguez (she's from SMASH).  It was only recently that I'd found out that Zachary Levi was originally cast as Dr. Frankenstein in Young Frankenstein, but had to drop out because he got the TV show, "Chuck."  I got to see Roger Bart in the Seattle pre-Broadway run of Young Frankenstein and thought he was terrific.  I also really liked the show "Chuck." It would've been interesting to see how he would've been in the role.

Watched part of a motion picture on Blu and Ray, since I'll have no time later.  In about twenty minutes I'll head over to the Monica of Santa to meet with a set and lighting person.  If I don't feel he's the right one for us, they have others, but this was their first choice but I was warned he can be persnickety and there's no reason for that on a show as simple as this one.  I have very specific ideas about the set and how it functions - the design is up to whoever but it has to work in the way I'm envisioning.  And it has to be designed and taped out by next Thursday, which is when I begin blocking.

Welcome, DR upperco. As you might be able to tell from my quote below, I'm a Porter fanatic, too. (And a gin fan.) What's your favorite Porter tune?

Our dinner was delicious, if I do say so myself.  We're waiting a while for dessert...

And I ended up having nothing for dinner. But tap class was fun.

What about Vixmom and the other Vixes?

Vixmom and Vixdad are celebrating their wedding anniversary tomorrow and we have just discussed BK's generous offer as it seemed a fun way to celebrate  but realistically we would never make it into the city  in time for the 7 PM show let alone the 6:30  doors open time - if it were in the weekend we would have loved to have been there

The Vixter is working tomorrow night

ASK BK

I see Criterion is releasing It's A Mad Mad Mad Mad World. They will be releasing the General Release version and 197 minute version

"New high-definition digital transfer of a 197-minute extended version of the film, reconstructed and restored by Robert A. Harris using visual and audio material from the longer original road-show version—including some scenes that have been returned to the film here for the first time—with 5.1 surround Master Audio soundtrack on the Blu-ray"

Do you know if this is a "new version" or the same version that was released with footage that was never meant to be part of the film.

Elmore I have finished he first disc of Dearest Enemy and will be starting on CD 2 in the  morning -  as  I have a short commute

Over the weekend I intend to give it a serious listen with libretto in hand -  but the music and singing is beautiful   and I imagine the theatre was filled with appreciative laughter with the descriptions of New York and its residents

Okay, you New York people, Sandy needs bodies for her show tomorrow night at the Metropolitan Room.  I read lots o' posts here from New York people who go to everything, and yet so far only ChasSmith has taken up her offer to comp in (food, drink and cover) anyone from this here site.  So, why don't you get off your butt cheeks and go see her - she's great, it's a fun show filled with some of the best songs ever written and all you have to do is drop me a PM so I can get your name on the list.  Also, bring friends or just tell your friends but she'd like to get another twenty to thirty people in there.  Spread the word like fine pate.

I wish!

Sandy's CD arrived today. I will listen tomorrow morning before physical therapy.  I was tempted to go tomorrow night but I have no idea when I get out of physical therapy on how I will feel.  I know it will be a good show.

The New York contingent is low these days: we've lost Noel, Tom Nondorf, TPunk, and William Orr.
Have I forgotten anyone?  I loathed Bill Lurie.

I forgot Julie! I miss her a lot.

So, I'm driving home from band, minding my own business, sitting behind several cars waiting for the red light to change when I hear "screech...Bang...." and then they hit me. Sheesh! I was lucky the poor car in the middle took the brunt of the accident. My poor car has a broken back bumper and I'm not sure if the back door or spare tire was hurt, but it's not too bad. I'm a little sore and am hoping that it's not whiplash....I'll know in the am.

Had my meeting today.  After much thought I wasn't very gung ho going into it, but decided to listen anyway.  They are interested in getting into the market here and have wanted to for 10 years but haven't been able to figure out a way to do it.  With a couple little exceptions, I have the market here.  I'm not going to give it to them without a whole lot in return.  They made and offer, but it wasn't nearly what I want. The firm really does want me and scheduled one more meeting, but I'm going to cancel it. It's a definite no.  It was a great experience because I had to really look at my challenges and my strengths and it made me realize what I have built.   Edith was thrilled I'm going to say no.   So am I  :)

You should tell them that if they throw in a all-expense paid trip to New York and a dependable cat sitter, they got a deal.
