Just talked to Mom and she sounds a little better than yesterday, but still doesn't feel like going out.  As it stands now, I will do a little shopping for her tomorrow.  She says she has a "lot on her mind" and I'm afraid she's stewing about the fact that I'm going to be away for a week next month.

I'll be back later today to tell my tale from yesterday.  My body is a bit sore but otherwise all is well.  My hiking group ended up hiking from 10:00 to almost 7:00.  As we made our way out of the woods we heard the sirens, and sure enough the sheriff's department was out there waiting for us.  :-[

Poor Keith said he knows how much he loves me cuz he was terrified.  Awww, brings tears to my eyes every time I think of him.

I hate hate hate the 83rd Street Planetarium Station if the US Post Office!!!

It's bad enough that the manager's got the brain of a peanut but when I got there after therapy and got in line at 12:20, there were three windows functioning: Window 1 was also dealing with passports, so this blonde twink had it tied up for over 10 minutes and two sets of passport photos, leaving Window 2 to deal with the lie of customers and Window 5 dealing with mail pickups. I stood for a painful 20 minutes when the lady in frnt of me finally got to Window 2 and then Window 5 motioned me to his window. Igot there, gave him the package and customs slip and he left. Finally a lady showed up and took over as well as taking 10 minutes to process the customs slip.  Then I had to stand at one of their automated processors and ship two packages to Boston and New Jersey.

And of course the PO is completely nonfunctional for the disabled. A chair while I waited in the goddam line might be nice. By that point my leg was tired of standing so I taxied the two blocks home.

Therapy was god today; they raised the level of biking difficulty so my legs were killing me; this is probably why they weren't happy at the PO.
