Keith has the same phone and loves everything about it except that he can't find a case for it, the kind with the window.  Do you have a case?

Same problem, DR Jane. The kind of case that Keith wants is the case I want. They're not available yet. I have another case on it for now, until that type becomes available.

Have to exit to continue installing the Windows 8.1 upgrade.  Back later (or tomorrow morning!)

I did not join DR ChasSmith tonight, much as I would have liked to, and I hope the show went well for Sandy and Lanny.  I look forward to his report.

I went to read DR Kate's review and got caught up in all the reviews. I think it's time for all three books to be acknowledged as a 3-part novel and published in one volume, like DAVID COPPERFIELD.  TH White's THE ONCE AND FUTURE KING began as separate novels.

And I  am off to bed.

Hmmm....  So far, Windows 8.1 doesn't seem all that different from Windows 8.

Listening to Victor Herbert's solo works for piano. Helps with the writing.

DR Jane, what a scary story, especially as it started getting dark.  Even more glad you are home and safe.

Thanks.  I was really nervous until it began to get dark.  Poor Keith was terrified.

DR Jane that is crazy. Especially that you had to go ahead (instead of backtracking). Just because that was what the majority decided. I guess it's better to all stay together. But really if the others are making you do something dumb.  That must have been tough with a sick person. :(

I was wondering how you could have gotten lost since you seem to hike so often.

Do cell phones not work anywhere around there?

Well, we really weren't lost, just looking for a crossing.  Yes, it is important to all stay together.

OMG it's wonderful stuff.  It does make you smell like a roll of wintergreen life savers, but that's not such a bad scent.  I'm going to get some to have when I run out of the samples.

Good evening, all.  Back from a WONDERFUL evening of music that just flew by.  As I told Sandy, when she announced the last number, I thought it would have been just fine if she'd announced a short intermission instead.  Really a wonderful show of top-notch music.  I thought she was in fine command of her act, and Lanny and Jay (as always) and the guitarist and drummer were an incredible band.  Just perfect.  You all really missed something, and it's too bad this was a one-shot engagement.  I grabbed some photographic evidence with my phone's camera, but am way too beat to tackle that tonight.  I'm hoping there will be a few shots, even if slightly blurry in the low light, worth posting -- and I'll do that tomorrow.  Thanks to both BK and SB for a fine evening!

Over the years that I've been driving in and out of NYC, I've had times when the traffic is so agreeable it's like I'm flying low, or like I own the jernt.  Other times, I've seen Hell.  This evening was a little closer to the Hell end of the scale than I like.  Even the trip back out of there, which was surprising.  But that's life in the city.  And it was well worth the trouble.

I like a Western Omelet - which I have sometimes when I eat out for breakfast....which I have not since the 20th Century.

Jack, am I going to have to drive out there just to take you to breakfast?

Talked to Sandy, and she was very pleased with both show and turnout - about fifty-three people.  Sorry if I was badgering anyone, but she really made it seem as if there were going to be five people and I just didn't want that.

When I finally broke down and bought a i-phone, I figured if I was spending that much money I better buy a sturdy protective case.  Most of the cases I found were for the new i-phone 5, and mine is a 4 or a 4S.  Anyway, the one I found makes it look like a have a Fisher Price phone, but at least it is protected.

The new cases are really sleek and don't add any heft like the old cases, which, for me, defeat the point of the iPhone - all I had with my 4G was a bumper and that was fine.
