When we lived in Michigan there was a delivery service called Door to Door that I used fairly often when Keith traveled.  They delivered from a huge selection of restaurants so if we wanted we could each order something from a different place.  We usually ordered from a wonderful Tai restaurant that had great food but was a bit gaudy inside.

My last load of wash is about to go in the clothes dryer and then I can dry my own hair.  Exciting news ;)

Wowee! She and that dress are gorgeous!

Watching BURN WITCH, BURN seems to be the thing to do this weekend...everyone is doing it! Including me, in fact I just finished it.

I liked the leads in the film,  quite a lot. Much of the film made no sense to me, however, and it lacked the melodramatic punch of the previous version of that story, 1944's WEIRD WOMAN.

Now I will watch CURSE OF THE DEMON, a film I have not seen since I was a child, and even then I think I only saw that final scene of it. Everyone raves about the film, so I am expecting it to be enjoyable.

But first I might just watch WEIRD WOMAN...Anne Gwynne, Evelyn Ankers, Lois Collier, and Elizabeth Russell provide enough cattiness for a dozen films.

Of course I really should be doing errands and chores...grocery shopping and laundry, to be exact. Oh well.

The house has just opened for our second performance.  It's a bought house, so there's no telling how many people will actually show up. :-\

For the last several days, I've kept thinking that I need to go to Fred Meyer to get something, but I absolutely cannot think of what I might've needed.  I hate it when that happens. :P

LOL  It does seem that when when my head has been in and out of the dryer so often.

When I was a young we had a wall heater in the bathroom I would sit in front of while I brushed my hair dry.  The coils down the middle would get red hot.  These days I use a hair dryer.  Our first house in Reseda, California had one of these.  When Bryan was about 1 year old he stuck his finger in it, while it was off, and before I could prevent him from tugging his hand out he cut himself.  When I called the neighbor to come hold him still while I stopped the bleeding she, an experienced mother of three, said she would take us to the ER for stitches.

Oh my goodness!  If that were made today, that would be a lawsuit just waiting to happen!

Final score:  Michigan 63, Indiana 47

Can you tell neither team has much defense?

Our stage manager just told me that Kimya Dawson, who wrote the songs for "Juno," is in the audience with her daughter!  I didn't know that Kimya lives here in Olympia and comes to all the Olympia Family Theater shows!  That's pretty darned cool!

I love getting the Cooking Channel.  We didn't get it on cable.  Lots of my old favorite Food TV shows are on the Cooking channel.  I feel like I found some old friends!

The good news:
I had an eye exam this morning with a new optometrist and I LIKE her. This is significant because the last two optometrists failed to get my prescription right. Both times I had to complain that I couldn't see properly. Of course, this is not met with pleasure. They get huffy and sometimes offensive and insist that the Rx they gave me is correct. I then say, "But I can't see properly!" As my hairdresser put it, how can anyone but me tell if I can see well or not? And so it goes. So far I like her.

The bad news:
It'll take about a week to have new reading glasses made. Until then I'm wearing my reading glasses from two years ago, which aren't really helping much. Reading is difficult and I will have to limit it. As I usually spend much of the day on the computer, it will be a challenge.

Once I have the new reading glasses--and they work well for me--then I'll have a new progressive made. I've been through this so many times that I've learned not to have a progressive made until I know that the reading Rx is good. It doesn't guarantee that the progressive will work, but at least we'll be one step closer.

Need I add that this drill is one HUGE OY? So, I won't be able to read or post much here for the next week.

A belated welcome to new DR upperco. Perhaps I missed it, but what is the derivation of "upperco"?

My bathroom has a heater just like that. It's never been cold enough to need it.
