We're told to batten down the hatches in advance of the big storm which is due tonight. I don't think I've got any hatches and I'm not sure what they are, but if I find any I'll do my best to batten them down!

DR Druxy,

Did you figure out THE GAME before it ended?

I didn't figure out the ending of THE GAME. In fact, I never do figure out twist endings. It always amuses me how people say they figured the twist ending of a film five minutes after it started. Like, yes - I always believe them!

I know a few people who said that they knew the "twist" in "The Sixth Sense."  Good for them.  I didn't and was completely gobsmacked when it was revealed!  I wouldn't have wanted to know that the first time I saw it.  I have also seen the director's next two films, but I didn't see any more than that...I don't know why.

Probably for the same reasons I stated above. They became predictable. Red was an important color in The Sixth Sense. It was purple in Unbreakable. I forgot the main color in signs. But we expected his films to have twists so we were prepared for them. We watched for his signature stylings so his films no longer became enjoyable. I for one don't want to see a film knowing it has a twist. It ruins it for you because you are trying to figure out what it is instead of enjoying the film.

I agree with you DR George.  I had been told there was a huge twist, but I tried to just put it aside and I was surprised.  I hate it when people tell me either that there is a twist or what it is.  I love to be surprised. I think that's part of the reason I like to ether try to see a movie shortly after it's released or long after the buzz has settled and I don't remember what was said about it

From the multipart article Where M Knight Shyamalan Went Wrong. In the following quote that summed up the part on Unbreakable it sums up what I feel is wrong with his films post The Sixth Sense, They also discuss The Village, The Happening, The Last Airbender

As solid a film as Unbreakable is, it also wound up poisoning Shyamalan’s career. Ending both of his first two directorial efforts with a big reveal resulted in audiences seeing him as “that guy who finishes his movies with a twist” – a nickname that would grow more and more sour with titles like Signs, The Village, and The Happening. Why didn’t Shyamalan just end the film with David revealing his real identity to his son? What would have happened to Shyamalan’s career if he had? Everything could have been different.

Orchestrator Larry Moore, who is mighty good at unearthing, reassembling and providing the missing pieces of vintage musical comedies, has done just that....    The musical restoration by Moore appears to be excellently done, and New World Records, which years ago gave us a splendid recording of Rodgers and Hart's Babes in Arms, has done a fine job.

Congrats! Nice to see you getting some much deserved recognition

When PSYCHO first opened, my brother Macbeth, my cousins and I were ar the first showing; we didn't want to know what the surprise was. And none of us saw it coming.

I upgraded to Mac OS 10.9 and my life has been a hell since 9:30 waiting for the download and now I'm deleting little used mp3 files to get more space on my hard drive. It's been a tense time, but I listened to the OBC of ON A CLEAR DAY and Barbara Harris charmed all the aggravation away.

I need some food.

I need to move all my iTunes files.  I have a 148GB "C" drive and there's only 3GB left!  My iTunes and other downloaded files (such as my Digital Theatre movies) are about 78GB of that.  I just found a page on iTune's website that explains how to move your library.  I'll do that to free up all that space.  I have a 1TB external hard drive and a 2TB drive.  I am moving all the stuff on the 1TB drive to the 2TB drive and make the 1TB drive dedicated to iTunes and Digital Theatre.  It's going to take several days to transfer all the files because there are a LOT of them. :)

a very very late ASK BK

You mentioned that the new BLU RAY release of OLIVER! had some copies autographed by Shani Wallis. I see that it will be up for pre-order in a couple of weeks.

How does one get an autographed copy?

I think I indicated that I would love an autograph.  If I remember correctly, we have to order our own copy of the Blu-ray and you'd just get the autographed sleeve...is that correct, BK?

I also iindicated that I would like one.  Just let me know if I should go ahead and order the Blu-ray.

Actually, I was one of the editors for it. I was the one who suggested strongly that  the "Johnny One Note" ballet get recorded and Ted Chapin backed me up against the conductor's wishes.

Watching Burns and Allen on Antenna TV.  Gracie was one of a kind.

Have you seen these clips of the color episode of B&A on YouTube?

Well, it's over!  "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" has finished its last performance and in a few minutes, we must strike the entire set and everything.  We had a great audience today.  A good day to end on. :D

Until later!

Sunday afternoon greetings!  It was dark, cold, and foggy when we left for Lima this morning.  We stopped for lunch at Culver's and Richard slept while I drove home from there.  I slept for a couple of hours when we got home and now I'm ready to chat.

DR Vixmom asked last night if Richard and I are seeing a show on Nov. 13.

We have tickets for the PIPPIN matinee, but we're not planning a show for the evening.
