DR Ginny, that's very nice to hear about Bruce Pomahac, I suppose Sheldon was talking about REX.

It's nice to see the clip of BK and Hadley again.  It's a lot of fun!

I have always preferred to read hardcover books though over the years read more and more paperbacks as they were often all that was available.  The cheap little ones were good for traveling and quick read type of books.

Keith purchased my first Nook for himself and then switched to the iPad.  It took awhile for me to get used to it and now I admit I prefer reading on it.  I have built in light to see and the print is usually easier to see.  Unless I don't have an internet connection, which rarely happens, I can instantly download a book to read.

I still carry a paperback & flashlight when I travel, just in case my Nook fails me.

Yes the size of the print is a good point in favor of e-readers. And you won't get the book dirty. It is easier to hold.

I would say for the nay-sayers to just try using an e-reader. If you read a lot if it is the best thing around.

DR Ginny, that's very nice to hear about Bruce Pomahac, I suppose Sheldon was talking about REX.

The discussion was about a new book about industrial musicals, Everything's Coming Up Profits, by Steve Young.  They played a clip and Sheldon commented that he'd like to know who the brilliant orchestrator was and Steve ID'd Bruce.  The whole program was quite wonderful and I'd recommend looking it up online.  I think you'll be able to hear today's program tomorrow on the Fresh Air website.

I never minded purchasing hard covers I wanted to read.  It is one thing to pay for something you can look at and hold in your hands than for something on a hand held device.  With long waits at the library, if a book a new book is available, or a high price for an eBook I rarely read recently published books.  I just received a reminder of this fact from Goodreads.  I have the page to vote for my favorite books of 2013.  I don't know what criteria Goodreads uses for their top choices (there is a write in option), however I have only read 2 of the books listed.  I have several of them on my library hold list and others on my wish list.  I plan to add a few more to the wish list.

My internet was out while the phone line was being fixed.  We often have problems here and need to wait for the repairman in case he has to come to the house.  I knew we were in trouble when the repairman, for the first time, actually showed up here.  The problem was from our end.  I guess that means we will be charged for this visit.

I hate reading a library or used book when there is dried food on the pages.

DR JRand63, my grandmother's farmhouse in Appalachia had a tin roof, and I loved listening to the rain on the roof. It might not be so much fun in a hail storm, but I loved the sound.

Good morning, all (where it is still morning.. it is here  :) ),

LOVED the video, BK. How adorable is that girl?!! And loved the set-up patter too. Perfect!
I also just saw a video on Facebook of Jenna's "Suddenly it Happens" that her mom posted. I am so sorry I could not be there to see and hear it all.

The good news on Sunday's long day of rehearsal and ensuing Ovation Awards show is that WE WON! Our cast of PARADE won the Best Acting Ensemble for a Musical, and the Production won, as well as our lead and supporting actors, Jeff Skowron and Rufus Bonds, Jr. It was one of those times when you knew something magical was happening, but to have it honored like that was is just the icing on the upside down cake.  :D

Other than that, I got nuthin'  :P

Congrats, ryacko and cast of PARADE!!

Our internet is fixed and it is still semi sluggish here, especially when I try to "quote".  Is anyone else having problems?

My niece went into labor on her own, just before they were going to induce.  The latest update is they expect the baby around 3:00. :)

I am also a Tuesday baby and my sister's son is celebrating his birthday today.
