  • What is it, fish?

My writing partner and I got an invite to do a piece for Texas Monthly. Haven't been in that mag before. It's due before the BBQ book but it's short. Hopefully we can do it.

Would the article be about antacids?

;D

Asian noodle dishes.

Could you do barbecued Asian noodle dishes?

First, you lay the noodles out on the grill...

I just cleaned my eyeglasses. Every time I do, which is far too infrequently, I am astonished anew at how bright and clear the world looks.
You think I'd learn...

I've had that experience myself. Now when I think I need a new Rx I just clean my lenses.

DR Ginny do you remember if they took a chest x-ray when you had your emergency trip to the hospital for your heart attack?

I'm curious since we were reading that John Ritter's wife sued the doctor who didn't order an x-ray and therefore misdiagnosed his aortic dissection as a heart attack.

I think they came to my ER room with a portable device to do a chest x-ray.  I remember for sure that I had a CAT scan of my chest right before going into the cath lab, but they didn't know about my dissection until the angiogram.

Oy. I have been sort of klutzy this week. I'm not sure how but i have like 3 cuts on my hands and i have no idea where i got them. Well tonight while taking out a piece of tin foil my index finger rubbed against the grated part. It was bleeding. :(

So now i am trying to type but it is hard because my index finger is bandaged.

Have you cleaned your glasses lately?  ;)

Yes, I'll be attending BK's show on Sunday. I really like Newley/Bricusse. I read that Mr Bricusse is still composing, doing a lot for film. I don't hear his name much except for the work he did with Anthony Newley.

Thanks Ginny.  I'm gathering it really was an oversight when they didn't do the x-ray on John Ritter.  It is sad  as an earlier diagnosis might have saved his life.

It has actually gotten colder here since the sun has come up: -2

Wear a hat, wear a scarf, wear long underwear, wear a coat, wear mittens, cover every inch of skin you can cover.   I did that today and the one little strip between my scarf and hat where my eyes were looking out and my forehead felt like it was burning.  It was probably -15 to -20 windchill  I felt it

  • My web doesn't need to make sense to anyone else.

So, I watched Sound of Music Live on NBC.com, and I don't know what everyone is complaining about. I thought it was excellent. Carrie sang beautifully, although she is not an actress.

I wish you could. My biz partner, Bonnie, claimed the ticket as if she'd had squatter's rights. It was barely out of my mouth, and she said, "I'm going." That was that.

So, you're going to watch Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top, too. He's a part of Bones.

There was a threat earlier today of canceling ZZ Top at the company Christmas party tomorrow night, but the party seems to be happening.

How big of a company do you work for?

26,000 employees worldwide, about 15,000-16,000 of them here in San Antonio. They're expecting anywhere from 20,000 to 24,000 to show up since you can take someone with you.

This is in a football stadium?

Basketball. But I actually think it was built for football. We got the Spurs instead.

I have decided not to complain about the drizzle we're having ... although I did get slightly damp while walking out to my car this evening

It's -5 air temp right now not counting the windchill.  I've moved from my usual spot in the living room, which is one of the coldest spots in the house - to the room I'm 1/2 way through remodeling.  It's a lot warmer up here.  It's Callie's room, so she likes that we gather here.

It's been fairly slow at the office lately so, we discussed it today and for the first time we're closing for a week at Christmas.   With the holiday on Wednesday, it's going to be very difficult to get work done that week, so what the heck.  Edith was very excited about it.
