Time for a strong dose of VIBES -- better make it a double -- for a speedy resolution to DR Elmore's fat hell.

Hey, don't you think that elmore has enough trouble without making fun of the size of his hell?

TOD:

"Today’s topic of discussion:  What are the most irritating things you find about the computer and the Internet, and what are the best things your find about the computer and the Internet?"

Most Irritating thing has been the ability of others to abuse the internet anonymously

Wonderful things - just so many wonderful things about the internet, when not abused - but mostly (for my taste) the ability to share in other people's thoughts and ideas - and share your thoughts, your ideas, get their thoughts and ideas back sometimes very quickly - even have conversations with people you never might have otherwise known or met

Concur. I was thinking recently that blogging has become a lot like driving. Such as some drivers--some of whom are very nice people otherwise --take out their anger on their fellow drivers, some bloggers don't hesitate to "flame" others online. Certain behaviors which wouldn't be acceptable in person somehow become acceptable when done from a car or computer.

I hate the loss of privacy.  Why do I bother to pay the phone company $1.50 a month for an unlisted phone number when anyone can go on the internet, and in a few minutes come up with my phone number, as well as other information I want kept secret.

Watching an amazing movie from Alain Resnais in which he has several casts of various ages simultaneously perform Anouilh's Eurydice. It's called You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet and it came out in 2012. Never heard a word about it, at least that I recall.

This is different from the Resnais movie BK wrote about a few days ago, which sadly I've already forgotten the name of.

(I Want to Go Home -- Must look for it.)

A BIG THANKS to DR GEORGE who was right on top of things the other night and immortalized my 10,000th post. And thanks, too, to all those who gave me congrats for it.

You're welcome, Jeanne!

Jsut read that Resnais is in his 90s and still directing. Great for him.

Yesterday, at the store, I bought some Fig Newtons.  I don't believe I have ever purchased them for myself, but they sounded good.  Turns out the fig part is still really good, but the cookie part tastes like it is left over from the last time I ate them; when I was ten years old.

Had a wonderful stumble-through.  Then I took the Staitmans out to celebrate Sarah's birthday - she chose Mo's.  I ordered what I always order there, the salmon.  It arrived looking nothing like the salmon I've been eating there for five years - it had a bilious green liquid over it, and when I asked why it was different I was told this was the new way they were doing salmon.  I said, "Well, this is the new way I'm sending it back because it would be nice to mention such a huge change).  I had the roast chicken and that wasn't so hot either.

BK, do you think that they could've (or would've been able to) make it the way they used to make it?  I've gone to a couple of local restaurants that changed certain recipes, but they knew how to make it "the old way" and could, if you asked.

BK had exactly that influence at the Smoke House - where it really mattered - a few months ago.  Thank the heavens.

I have the unfortunate feeling that those results cannot be replicated at most other places.

I've done three pages and will now take a break, then resume later and do at least two more.  I've been doing two showers a day, mostly because that's where inspiration has beens striking, so I'll probably do a show later tonight.

I'm watching Anderson Cooper and Kathy Griffin's New Year's Eve show.  I recorded it, but finally don't have anything else to watch, so I'm ketchuping on Anderson and Kathy.  They are so funny together!

DR Cillaliz - my grandfather's favorite book was The Moonstone, also by Wilkie Collins.      :)

That's the one I want to read next.  I saw something that said some people like The Woman in White better and some like Moonstone better.

I have decided I need to start entertaining again this year. I have always just waited and done larger parties, I want to start doing small dinner parties with just a few I guess that's my New Years resolution

There were only 6 of us tonight and it was a really good time.  I can think of a number of combinations of friends to have over that way,  I just never push myself to get the house clean enough to entertain.  Maybe I should start getting help.
