Play vibes for DR MIKE.

Vibes for DR JEANNE.....I think I got the inoculation a couple of years ago....but I'm old.

DR VIXMOM - I had one of those ocular migraines....and for some reason my doctor later told me I should take a Vitamin D in addition to my regular vitamin....none since....but I'm not sure that that had anything to do with it....

The postman just now rang my doorbell (only once, not twice) and I found on my doorstep a package from KRITZERLAND.  Inside was a treasure trove of goodies from Mr. Krtizerland himself, our own Bruce Kimmel.  What a lovely surprise and profusion of wonders.  Thank you, thank you so much, dear BK.  The Lovely Wife and I will revel in the wonders and pleasure our ears!

If you stew cranberries like applesauce they taste more like prunes that rhubarb does.

BK, you ought to hire Billie Hayes to play Mammy Yokum. She'd be perfect, you know.

Seems like.   But what did Miss Ann Miller as "Mame" ever do to anybody here to make 'em leave?

Speaking of LIL ABNER, although he was not in it (but, several of his friends were), today is actor Reg Lewis' 78th birthday!

Hmm.....    Wonder why Amazon is selling the Li'l Abner DVD for $100?
http://www.amazon.com/Lil-Abner-Peter-Palm%C3%A9r/dp/B0007TKGXK/ref=sr_1_9?ie=UTF8&qid=1390503935&sr=8-9&keywords=Li%27l+Abner

The DVD is out of print, and that's someone else's price, not Amazon's.  Look at the used and new copies being offered by other sellers, and there are some much more reasonable ones.

Thanks, DR ChasSmith. I already own the DVD; I was just kind of shocked at the price. But now it makes sense.

Wouldn't "Pappy Yokum" be more like it?

There are used ones for under $30.  If somebody really HAS to have one, it's affordable.  Ypu might find even better prices at eBay.

Sad news:  Maestro Riz Ortolani passed away today at the age of 83.

This Italian film music composer was responsible for many gorgeous scores and songs, including "The Yellow Rolls-Royce" (winning the Goldn Globe for Best Song for "Forget Domani"), "The Seventh Dawn", "Brother Sun, Sister Moon" and "Mondo Cane" for which he wrote the song "More".

Like his countryman Ennio Morricone, Ortolani's international prominence started in the 1960s and continued through recent years.  Recent scores by Ortolani include "Inglorious Basterds" and "Django Unchained".

We are back from the library, lunch at BJ's, Target, and Kroger.  We can now become snowbound (again) for a few days, but not until after I get home from my AAUW current events discussion group this evening, please.
