I came in and said  oh I am so disappointed   I wanted to show you pictures on my computer  but I need a big table -to set up  but maybe another  time...

she was out of bed and in her chair ready to do to the library right away

:)

I hope the nieces can put together something for future visits now that they know the secret to getting her up.  I fortunately have always had a dog with me when I went to nursing homes.

Vixdad had  the fish and chips with chili and I had the  6 oz sirloin with broiled mushrooms,  with baked potato and salad. I must say we have never had a bad meal there and it is very reasonable

We had errands to do today so we went into town for brunch.  Once of the errands was returning the "personal" (as in second bag/purse/briefcase) carry-on bag Keith recently purchased.  It turns out with United's new regulations the bag is too big.  With the newer stricter regulations the roll on bag I have been using for years may be deemed a couple of inches too big.

Since our last trip and learning many countries weigh the carry-on bags we expected to eventually need something new but now isn't the time to get it.

I also also learned that luggage companies list the dimensions of the bag excluding the wheels to the handle which the airlines include.

auugh I hope this doesn't meant the rolling carry-ons that the Vixfamily has been using are no longer compatible

since we always have two connections, sometimes  rather tight ones, we have been avoiding checking bags when we go to Canada by  only using carryons

I don't think they allow animals (other than service animals) at the rehab, not that I have one to bring with me even if  they did allow it

You know, it's amazing how wonderful and inviting a name like "Texas Roadhouse" sounds when you're sitting here hungry and wishing there was something in the house you really wanted to eat.

pulled into my driveway just as two Jehovah witnesses were walking up my path

No offense intended, but I heard a very funny joke involving JWs:

To celebrate St Patrick's Day tomorrow, i listened to my recording of Victor Herbert's EILEEN, and then I watched Darby O'Gill and the Little People, which has some really frightening moments. I don't think I'd seen it in 20 years. I probably watched in last around 1988 or so, when I got my first VCR.  I probably saw it 2 or 3 times in the theatre in 1959; it was one of my favorite movies, and I think it holds up.  Albert Sharpe was the original Finian of FINIAN'S RAINBOW, and there's a lot of that character in Darby O'Gill, from the blarney and swagger to the grief when his daughter nearly dies; in FINIAN, it's burning Sharon at the stake, and in DARBY, it's death by pooka.

I will probably have banshee nightmare tonight.

Some great viewing and listening ideas there, DR Elmore.

I haven't seen Darby O'Gill since I was a kid.  That might just be the ticket.

One of the tickets.

All I can say is before you travel again check out what is happening with your airline.

Delta says 45 linear inches approximately 22" x 14" x 9" while United says it has to be those measurements.  They both say including wheels and handles which I never knew were included.

Without the wheels the height of mine is fine but it is a couple of inches wide.  It fits just fine in the overhead facing out instead of sideways so I don't know what the issue is.

There is that too, however, family doesn't have to visit either.  You might mention that to her on your next visit ;)

United, so far, is giving measurements for the second, personal sized, carryon.  They can't be larger than 17 tall x 10 wide x 9 deep.  I understand why these should be small enough to fit under the seat instead of in the overhead bins.

Jack, wifi has nothing to do with a browser. Yes, you need wifi to connect to the Internet using a tablet (most tablets are either Android or Apple OS but there are some Windows tables - the Surface being an example).

The wifi signal is produced by your router. You may have to turn on the wifi connection on a tablet but it may also be "on" by default. If you're trying to connect on a tablet you should see a list of wifi signals in the area. Hopefully, you know the name of your wifi connection so that you can choose it to connect. Once you're connected, you can use any browser that's on the tablet.

Here when a bus is not running they post a sign on top of the bus stop.  It seems only fair.

Do you post in your sleep, TCB?
