To answer your question from yesterday, DR Jane, we had a couple of inches of snow the other day and there's still some on the grass since it's been so cold.   There's a lot of rain expected on the weekend so I'm sure the snow will be gone soon.

Thanks.

Bruce, my friend thanks you for the offer.  She is currently home in Portland and doesn't have the information with her.  She will return to LA to work on the house in late April.  I will give her your number then and remind you she will be calling.

My poor friend hates staying at her mother's house while she is working on it, and add to the situation she had a crazy neighbor walking on the wall behind her house.  Hopefully he won't return.

TOD:
My favorite holiday is #Sondheimas.      :)       It occurs on March 22 every year.

You can see our own very E & T DR JoseSPiano music directing the most recent celebration here:

I'm watching (listening) to this while working.  It's great!!

Does anyone have the book, HOW GREEN WAS MY VALLEY?

I was going to pick it for my book group discussion in May and was requested to save this for summer reading.  I don't really want to because I can't decide on anything else.

How thick is the book?

It's huge, around 500 pages, covers 20 years of a Welsh family. I read it in Dublin in 2012, I think.

I am so over all the Sondheimania. That idiot at the Signature Theatre is doing a new Sondheim revue. Just what the world needs.

I looked and our listing says "pagination varies."  The Kindle versions says 448 pages.

Back from friend's birthday dinner, at which everything was fabulous, and following which, I should not be eating again for about a week.

Thanks.  That is why I was curious about the actual book.  Sometimes I get an eBook with a lot of pages but it reads as if the book is much shorter.  This apparently is truly a long book and I'm guessing not one to read quickly.

Divergent was a book that listed as 487 pages and yet I zipped right through it.
