Intrada, another specialty label (soundtracks), had the rights to the "Two for the Road" original soundtrack recording several years back (maybe as many as 10 years ago) but the masters could not be found. The RCA album was a re-recording, so they could have issued the original recording without licensing through RCA.

A very, very strange 1970s confluence brought the weird pairing of Sinatra and John Denver on this version of SEPTEMBER SONG. I like John Denver, but when he begins his part, I can't help but be reminded of Kermit the Frog singing "Rainbow Connection", which of course does not bode well for the rest of this duo [mercifully it's less than half of Lou Reed's version, which is (good) weird for very different reasons]:

Been listening to the 1998 Varese release "Classic TV Game Show Themes" and realized how many of the well-known themes were written by Robert Israel. It might even be fun to hear someone do a cover version of the theme to "To Tell The Truth" which has some far-out late 1969 lyrics.
