DR Jane, Morgantown has some interesting locales and the nearby Cooper's Rock lockout (10 or 15 minutes east on I-68) is stunning, but the town can be HELL to get through whenever anything's going on at the University. Big games, graduation, you name it. Just stay away. That said, I have special feelings for it because my mother's family came from there and we'd visit when I was a kid. I was especially enchanted with the topography.

Happy to see Jane back - and she'll be happy to know Red Gold is now a Nook book and it's also on amazon for Kindle.
BK, I went to re-download "Red Gold" for my Kindle and it seems to still not work.
I am also enjoying reading about DR JANE's trips and look forward to her photos.

Craig said it is a beautiful state and will be going on a short trip there this summer with friends. They have rented a cabin. My mistake was wanting to stay in the town, which fortunately we couldn't find a room since there was a game. It was really just an overnight stop as our destination was Maryland. I would have liked to have time to explore more of the state.

The rooms sell out early and expensively during those times. The amazing thing about Cooper's Rock is that you drive in and park, and the rock itself which is a major lookout point is, like, a five-minute walk away. It was probably my mother's favorite spot when growing up there, they took me up when I was a kid, and I've been there twice in the past five years while visiting relatives. It's one of most stupendous views.
