Mom's undecided about going to the wedding...

Is the wedding at a hotel or a venue where there might be a place for her to rest if she becomes tired?

Boo is now curled up sleeping in my lap.  She was so excited to have so many windows open, it was darling.

About halfway to church, Richard looked over at me and said, "Where's your Mother's Day present?"

I said, "Where IS my Mother's Day present?"

He said, "It's at home in my desk!"

Well, it's around my neck now - a beautiful, delicate necklace of multi-color stones that I admired in a downtown gallery a week or so ago!

Very nice.

Today we learned, from Craig, that Facebook has a video option and it worked better than Skype.  Then Bryan called and we switched to a 3 way conversation on Google.  It was good we had a nice long conversation with Craig first as we missed half of what he said once we switched to the 3 way.

I have beautiful flowers here from Bryan and Craig, to make up for not sending a card, honored me on FB.  I got lucky with the timing as his post was the first thing I saw when I opened FB on my Nook before I even got out of bed.  It was a perfect way to begin the day.

I'm debating whether to go to graduation or not. I'm not a great one for ceremonies and did not go through my undergrad ceremonies with the other 13,000 graduating. This will be a much smaller affair, but it will be in upstate New York. So, I'll have to fly.

My friend Carol has a time share in New Hampshire for the week, so I'll be able to spend three days there.

Those are the pluses, I see. The minus: About $500++ for the ticket.

Decided to treat myself to a chocolate peanut butter thing at K's Donuts - alas, one person came in and bought them all this morning.  A pox upon that person - seriously.  But I got one of their chocolate whipped cream things instead - so no pox upon me - seriously.

Now I relax from now until bed - with one short visit from the director of Overlord who's picking up some CDs today to take to Cannes, where the film is being shown in their classics series.

Craig went back and forth and decided not to go to the ceremonies in Baltimore.  His classes were in Rockville & Columbia and most the people he met in his classes were locals working during the day.  He didn't develop any friendships.  I think he regrets, almost as much as I do & I practically begged him, that he skipped his graduation at Carnegie Mellon.  He is still very close to the people in his small class.  They began in the summer and were mostly people who, like Craig, had been in the Peace Corps or lived in other countries.

Even if you're not one for ceremonies, there was something about actually putting on the gown and going through the ceremony that felt really good.  It's a big acknowledgement of your achievement.  I didn't think I cared about my law school graduation ceremony, but in the end I was really glad I did it.  I'm still mad I didn't buy the class photo, but I didn't care about such things back then.  I did sit for it, so I'm in the photo, I just didn't buy one

Agreed!  I skipped my Master's commencement and have regretted it for 40+ years.

I hear thunder.  There's a tornado heading toward Omaha. I don't think the one coming toward us is tornadic, but I think it may have wind and hail.  Glad to be home.

DR vixmom - glad you recovered your phone. We're going to have to tie it around your neck with a string.     :)

I am usually quite good about it  but I apparently missed the side pocket of my  bag and it slipped onto the chair without me noticing  I was lucky it was found by an honest young man!
