Have started watching the new Thor. Seems better than the first one, but not by enough.

I have so much to do around the house  I really need to get working on that

That's why I took a week off.  I have so many things I want to do and never have the time to do it

I'm watching 41 on 41.  41 people telling the story of George HW Bush.  It's really quite interesting.

Spurs won! San Antonio will party hearty.

And that ends my sports reporting for the year.

This is a picture of my family.....taken about a year ago....my parents, my four brothers, three sisters, that mule, Old Rivers, and me.

Who is the hottie brother in the middle?  And what is his phone number?

Wow, officially we had over 6 inches of rain in Sioux City.  They take the official reading at the airport which is maybe 10 miles from my house.  3.9-4.0 around my side of town

Ok, I've put it off long enough, time to go get the fan from the garage and start drying out the basement.   Fans are great when it comes to this sort of thing

I never have to dry floors, because I have so many fans!

Well that figures. I had a ticket to the baseball game but decided not to go.... They scored 14 runs and won the game.  Sheesh!

We had 4 inches of rain in the storm last night!  I intentionally avoided going to the basement last night and slept instead.  This morning I went down there and the floor is damp and I can see where the water came through but found it's way to the drain.  So, I avoided bailing water.  I'll get out the big fan and get it going in a few minutes.  Water hasn't come in since we had a really heavy rain a few years ago.  Luckily I put down carpet squares and didn't recarpet.  it won't be hard to clean up

Still, a lousy way to begin your vacation week.

Yes, but at least she was home to deal with it ;)

Even if she wasn't on vacation, I think she would be home on Sunday morning.

We called Craig back after eating.  As expected he passed the reading exam which means he doesn't have to take the class.  He should be receiving his teaching credential from Johns Hopkins in July.

Now he waits for Human Resources to call him for a job interview in the district.  That can happen up until the time the schools reopen at the end of August.  He will be certified to teach Special or regular Education.

Congrats and Good Luck to Craig!!

elmore, I'm just curious - have you gone to the city about all your problems.  What they are doing is completely illegal, especially with the bathroom.  They have to fix anything that's broken, that's part and parcel of being an owner.  They can't oust you from the building - I think it's time to find out what your actual rights are and then make some solid threats - perhaps via attorney.

I have a plan of attack with the super tomorrow. I'm going to threaten to call the landlord to make his job easier and ask for a repairman and somone to look at my stove since he's too busy with all the apartments on the block to finish this job.  I like the super, but he is not his father-in-law in accomplishing things quickly, and i think he feels he can drag it out and walk over me. Perhaps the "helpful" phone call will put a fire under him.

Good luck, Larry!  Hope it all goes well!

Cool!  There were a few bats where my sister used to live, but I had only seen a few over the years.
