We called Craig back after eating.  As expected he passed the reading exam which means he doesn't have to take the class.  He should be receiving his teaching credential from Johns Hopkins in July.

Now he waits for Human Resources to call him for a job interview in the district.  That can happen up until the time the schools reopen at the end of August.  He will be certified to teach Special or regular Education.

Bryan has yet to call, if he can.  We don't know his work schedule.

The phone rang awhile ago with the long distance sound, however, it was my 90 year old aunt.  Since I expected her to be busy with my cousin, who apparently went to Hawaii with is family, I was concerned something had happened when I saw call waiting.  My 94 year uncle has not been doing well.  I relaxed once I heard her cheerful voice.

Keith walked out of the office to check on my conversation-sweet.

Richard received a Father's Day phone call from Rob about an hour ago.  They were in Michigan with Mary Linda's family this weekend and had just returned home.

We keep checking our phones for a text from Bryan.  He is either sleeping or at work since we haven't heard from him yet.

Thank you from the dear readers VIXMOM, FJL, SINGDAW, JANE, and GINNY - yes I am very lucky to have such a BIG close and close in proximity family.  It can be annoying sometime with everybody knowing EVERYTHING....but it is also a great comfort.

DR VIXMOM....my mother will be 83 in December, and she does take very good care of herself.

elmore, I'm just curious - have you gone to the city about all your problems.  What they are doing is completely illegal, especially with the bathroom.  They have to fix anything that's broken, that's part and parcel of being an owner.  They can't oust you from the building - I think it's time to find out what your actual rights are and then make some solid threats - perhaps via attorney.

I have a plan of attack with the super tomorrow. I'm going to threaten to call the landlord to make his job easier and ask for a repairman and somone to look at my stove since he's too busy with all the apartments on the block to finish this job.  I like the super, but he is not his father-in-law in accomplishing things quickly, and i think he feels he can drag it out and walk over me. Perhaps the "helpful" phone call will put a fire under him.

And I am back from the Duplex. I liked the cast and most of the songs. I had no idea my friend Robby was such a good writer.

Happy Father's Day to our HHW fathers -- and the men who may not be fathers, yet still mentored children and provided a good role model.

We had 4 inches of rain in the storm last night!  I intentionally avoided going to the basement last night and slept instead.  This morning I went down there and the floor is damp and I can see where the water came through but found it's way to the drain.  So, I avoided bailing water.  I'll get out the big fan and get it going in a few minutes.  Water hasn't come in since we had a really heavy rain a few years ago.  Luckily I put down carpet squares and didn't recarpet.  it won't be hard to clean up

Still, a lousy way to begin your vacation week.

Yes, but at least she was home to deal with it ;)

Exactly!!!  My plan this week is to do lots of projects around the house.  One of the plans was to clean the basement.  Didn't think I'd do it today, but at least it's done now.  It would have been a moldy mess if I hadn't been home to deal with it.  Glad I was here

DR Cillaliz - glad that the flooding was not more problematic.  I am sure that DR Vixmom is green with envy!

I am relieved.  Last time I had water it was a HUGE mess.  This took me a while to dry out and clean up, but nowhere near what it was before

Back from the birthday party. Mickey really enjoyed it. She turns 81 this week. Her husband's planned menu was simple but effective: oysters and gin. The Caesar added. It proved to be easy, so I haven't had the last of it.

The coconut cake for dessert was also welcome.
