This will be the first Father's Day without one. But I am flying up to Montreal to spend time with my Mother and family. I will be there for a week.

I think it is great you are spending it with your family instead of alone.

Isn't it amusing when someone posts something specifically so it will show up on your news feed and you can read it?

How can someone be sure you will see it on your newsfeed unless they tag you? They can post something wanting you to see it. But I don't go through all of the posts in my newsfeed and I can't imagine that most people do.

I try to go through all the posts, though I agree they should tag you if they want to be sure you see it.

We had 4 inches of rain in the storm last night!  I intentionally avoided going to the basement last night and slept instead.  This morning I went down there and the floor is damp and I can see where the water came through but found it's way to the drain.  So, I avoided bailing water.  I'll get out the big fan and get it going in a few minutes.  Water hasn't come in since we had a really heavy rain a few years ago.  Luckily I put down carpet squares and didn't recarpet.  it won't be hard to clean up

Still, a lousy way to begin your vacation week.

Yes, but at least she was home to deal with it ;)

We had a sell out +2 audience and a fine show with of course some technical issues, but it was much fun.

Happy news!

Hello, everyone.

Thanks for all the nice comments about my new car. I thought of a better way to post the photos, but I'm sure you all saw enough.

I would be happy to see a larger photo of your lovely new car.  I was expecting Bruce to put one up after you emailed him.  One of you in front of the car would be extra nice.

I love your new car DR JEANNE.....I am almost inspired to buy a new one....since mine is ten years old....but it doesn't really have any major problems....so I can't see any reason.....

Well, I can light the stove with a match, but the oven is dead until it's repaired. If O am found dead, cherchez le super!

And I am off to the Village for this cabaret act. I'd rather stay home or see a play or a movie.

Thanks DR VIXMOM.

And a big thanks to DR MBARNUM for the Allison Hayes care package he sent me yesterday.  Most interesting and entertaining!

Many a time I wish we had stayed close to the family and now our children have done what we did.

elmore, I'm just curious - have you gone to the city about all your problems.  What they are doing is completely illegal, especially with the bathroom.  They have to fix anything that's broken, that's part and parcel of being an owner.  They can't oust you from the building - I think it's time to find out what your actual rights are and then make some solid threats - perhaps via attorney.

Sunday evening greetings!  Today was a Lima Sunday for us and I took a 2-hour nap when we got home.  Now we're watching World Cup soccer - not really my game.

This Maya Angelou quote has been going around.  I'm not sure what to make of it.  It sounds wise, but also as if it's saying don't put your very best effort forward where you're just on option to whoever is picking:

"Never make someone a priority when all you are to them is an option." ~Maya Angelou

I agree - thanks for sharing the family photo, DR Jrand63!  Like DR Jeanne, I did not realize that your immediate family was so large. How great that you are all so close in distance!

We celebrated the opening of the Green transit line in church this morning by singing songs about trains. Oh, they all had a spiritual twist to them, but nonetheless - the songs were all about trains.    :)

Tonight, we are attending a cabaret program - the "Broadway Songbook" series.  All songs by Comden and Green.

DR Cillaliz - glad that the flooding was not more problematic.  I am sure that DR Vixmom is green with envy!

I myself was pretty cavalier about getting a sleep study, until my doctor explained all the very serious consequences of untreated apnea. That scared me enough to press forward with the whole process.

I find it interesting my doctor just said for Keith to watch me sleep and check my breathing. ;D

Craig called while we were out looking for a place to have brunch.  The places we wanted to eat at, that were open before 11:00, were busy so we came home and Keith made blueberry buttermilk pancakes.  He also made an extra large pancake with peanut butter in it.  That was all for him as I didn't want any of it.
