Just before I left, talked to the attorney - he'd given them until today to respond and, smartly, they did.  Not what we wanted, of course, just a response saying that within a week's time everything would be wrapped up and that all further correspondence needed to be sent to the District's legal counsel.  The attorney replied that yes, that's what it needed to be, and that any response to me within the week's time had to go to him.  It's his opinion that they understand what's at stake here, but who knows.  He's going to call them on Tuesday, although we'll discuss whether we should give them the week they've mentioned.  Either way, however this is going to play out it will play out shortly.  He doesn't think that initially they will give me what I'm asking for, but he does think eventually I'll get it.

Best of luck with it.

In looking at things about Mary Rodgers on the Internet, I somehow found myself reading yet another debate about the merits of son Adam's score for A Light in the Piazza.

I adore the score and found the original production incredibly moving, but what strikes me is the disparate array of reactions to the score: from pure adulation to pure loathing.

Oh, you have been talking to elmore.

The concert was excellent. Also on the bill was Stravinsky's Symphony of Psalms, so it was a lovely and full evening. The chorus worked very hard, as did the soloists. And the percussion section. Boy, that is a difficult sing!

Good afternoon or evening.  I've spent the day taking care of several annoying chores that just had to finally be crossed off the list.  Tonight, one of the last things I feel like doing is sitting at a local outdoor venue watching some people put on ANYTHING GOES.  And yet, that's just what I'm doing.  Got to see a few folks.

But you get to hear Cole Porter. That's one of the things that makes life more worthwhile.

Back.  And:  Yes!   It turned out to be just what I needed.

I bought on EBAY a lobby card from ATTACK OF THE PUPPET PEOPLE and the seller turned out to be DR MBARNUM!

Was it signed by all the males in the cast?

The man would be Harve Presnell, right?

Who by the way is the baritone on the old Eugene Ormandy recording of CARMINA BURANA that many of us grew up with.  I still have a great fondness for it.

Great Performances is broadcasting the Met's La Boheme tonight. So heartbreaking, that score just grabs me by the throat and throttles me. So many great melodies and shattering moments.

Yes, but do you think it is as good as RENT?
