Madakaripura, Indonesia

Very pretty.

I found more photos of the Faroe Islands and emailed to Keith saying I want to go there.  I guess he liked the photos too as he researched how to get there.  I doubt it will ever happen but it was interesting reading a little bit about the islands.

I am now off the take some STEEL MAGNOLIAS publicity photos so that we can meet the deadlines of the weekly print papers.

I will also finish taking the portraits so that I can get the lobby slide show done....and I will probably also do the lobby display case while I'm at it.

Hey, Jack, how are the plans going to revive Walking Happy? Ben and I have started a campaign.

Samuel French controls the rights. They should be easy to get. I don't think any First Class productions are happening any time soon.

That is awful news, DR elmore3003.

I hope the problems are not too difficult and easily surmountable.

So, when you accept a "friend" request on Facebook the default is you're FOLLOWING them???  No wonder I see all this crap on my newsfeed that makes me NEVER want to go to Facebook.  Now I'm going to systematically unfollow everyone but a handful of folks.  One guy who I recently accepted does nothing but post obnoxious stories (you know the kind - "You won't believe what happened next") from The Blaze - I just unfollowed him, but I'll also probably unfriend him, too.

Is this why I keep seeing conversations my friends have with other people or groups?

I thought the "follow" option made it possible to follow people you aren't friends with, it the person permits following.  I don't think I do.  I will have to double check that.

I think this following thing is new.  I don't think you can follow people you are not friends with accept authors or people like that.

That's the fun of Brain - you can do it as we did with sixteen or you can do it with double that.

It was a long while ago that I read about following and made some adjustments.  It is all so confusing.

I looked at my "follow" settings and I have it set to friends only.  It seems to me if you "unfollow" someone you won't see anything they have to say.  I'm not sure why you wouldn't just unfriend them instead, unless you don't want to hurt their feelings.

My problem is not that I follow my friends, it is that I can see too many comments friends make on their friend's or group pages.

That BRAIN production looks like it's being done by a quality group.

Like I'd know, right?  But I look at their site and the pictures, and it sure looks like something I'd be interested in being involved with.

Enjoyed DR Jeanne's latest Netflix recommendation last night - THE CONCERT.

?? Sing, I'm unfamiliar with this film, but after reading about it I've added it to my queue. I can see why you were thinking it was one of my recommendations, though.

I mentioned NICKY'S FAMILY, the story of TCB and his dear cat.

Speaking of clutter, I spent some time this afternoon tossing and organizing. A small dent, only. I'm hoping to chip away at it. I KNOW I should get rid of more books! I think they're the hardest thing for me to get rid of.

A-a-a-and, now we're goint to paint our bedroom.  Richard cleared out his "library" corner today to make room for the bookcases that came from upstairs and decided he wants to paint before putting it back together.  We'll do it one wall at at time, hoping to be able to continue to use the room as we go.  I've ordered new draperies that should come next week and we're off to Home Depot tomorrow for painting supplies and gear.  It's getting more like HGTV here every day...

Well, today is the day for the in-person interviews for the library selector.  We have two candidates.  I'm sure that either one would be very good.  They both have a lot of experience, AND the right kind of experience.  Also, when we did the Skype interviews, they both seemed like very nice people.  We'll see what happens! :D

Well, that was NOT an easy decision to make.  Both candidates gave very good interviews.  They both had their strengths and weaknesses.  It was very balanced.  One would have one experience, but not another.  The other would have the other experience, but not the one.  Afterward, we on the hiring committee talked about how well each would fit in with our "culture" and we all felt that either would fit in very well.    But a decision was made.  I don't doubt that that candidate will accept (it's happened before...more than once...where someone was offered a position and then didn't accept).  Anyway, it's over and I'm glad.  But it was interesting to be involved in the process. :)

J.K. Rowling's second Cormoran Strike detective novel, The Silkworm, has been published.

Don't know if the first printings will go crazy in price like the first one did, since now the cat is out of the bag as to who "Robert Galbraith" is.

I read the first one, "The Cuckoo's Calling," and really enjoyed it.   I'm looking forward to this next one.

Elmore's comment on pickled eggs reminded me of pickled beets, which I love. Eggs, not so much. And I've never tried pickled pig's feet. But I remember a bar in Middletown, Ohio, that had both in jars on the counter. One was pickled eggs in beet juice and the other had pig's feet. I don't remember the name, but it was something like the Baltimore.

At my parents' anniversary get-together at the restaurant, my mom said that she LOVES pickled pig's feet...but only homemade, not store-bought.  I remember her having some when I was growing up (I don't know if she actually made it, but she had some).

is what I have to say to that!
