I love these book benches all around London.

:)

I was surprised how many there are.

They are so pretty!

Are you allergic to the cat?

Oh, yeah, big time!

You could stack the gates or install a screen door that lets the air through.

DR Ginny I have a suggestion to help with your allergy.  First they should bathe the cat and then give it a distilled water rinse.  Rinses, or just wiping the cat down with distilled water should help.

We may have to install a door at the top of the stairs, which would also require installing a second window fan.  The whole-house fan is now in Rob and Mary Linda's living room and closing that door would prevent any air circulation downstairs.

Vixdad put in a pocket door on our upstairs entrance to the stairs to keep little Vixter from tumbling down the stairs

Is this gate large enough?

I doubt it.  Allie could probably get between the bars.

A screen across it would be needed, if it is tall enough.  I saw a number of tall cat doors that would only have prevented one old fat cat from going over it.  All the others would have been fine-lol

While very clever of him, that would still be solid and have to be kept closed most of the time.

if the hope is to keep cats hair and dander from Ginny's lungs that may be a necessity

You might be able to find a retractable screen door.

Rob is also allergic to cats but swears that he has developed a tolerance for this particular cat.  Mary Linda does bathe her in something that seems to help.

Finished with the mix listening - 90% great, and just a few minor noises to get rid of and one vocal to bring out a teeny bit more in one song.  That's it.  My recommendation is going to be one more one-hour horn date the first week of August to do just a few more fixes - that's the 10% I could live with but know can be better.

Remember, I'm also somewhat of an animal grinch and not particularly interested in having one roam the entire house.

Ask if she also does the rinse.

I've known people with allergies to cats that didn't even know I had any.  Bryan doesn't plan to have a cat because of his allergies though he wouldn't shut his bedroom door at home to keep them out.  It wasn't until he moved out of the house he truly understood why I told him to keep the door shut-you know, he wanted to sleep with them.

The screen may be enough since your living space is down the stairs.  There will be hair & dander on their clothes when they walk downstairs even if the cat is upstairs.  I would think a solid door won't make a big difference.  The cat can see out and air can circulate up there.

We have decided not to check out old movies from the library anymore.  The quality on CABARET was terrible and we turned it off after a few minutes.

BILLY ELLIOT was fine but it isn't as old.

bk, you had initially thought that there was a reverberation discrepancy amongst the tracks.  Is that no longer the case?

Back from a lovely backyard garden double birthday party.  (Not for me).

Drinks were imbibed.  Hilarity ensued.
