Back from lunch at the Kansas City Barbecue with Doug Haverty.  First time back since the remodeling of the interior - now we have a new name, The Barbecue Bar, steel tables and I found it very off-putting.  No more sauce on the tables in the plastic squeeze bottles, a very fatty sandwich, but Doug's ribs looked very good.

Glad the anti-virus process was so simple, Larry.

Well, let's all hope so! I don't want to wake up tomorrow and find my bank account depleted.

It seems okay, but the blasted popups are still on Safari. Maybe I should turn the computer off and reboot it?

Job vibes for DR ELMORE.

I have been having a couple of popups on my system as well.....but I do not have a MAC, so I am not sure if our problems are compatible.

I like the idea. However, I would not want to actually eat watermelon mixed with Swedish fish.        :)

In my reading, i am currently stuck in England in the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. I'm running through Anne Perry's Charlotte and Thomas Pitt mysteries, and I'm up to the tenth or so, Bethlehem Road. I like the recurring characters a lot, especially Charlotte's sister Emily and her great-aunt Vespasia.

For my bus reading, I've got Georgiana and I am currently in thrall with Longbourn, which is a spin on Pride and Prejudice from the viewpoint of the servants, Hill, Mrs. Hill, Polly, Sarah, and James, the Downstairs to Austen's Upstairs. It's much grubbier and grittier than Austen.

My eBook library has many Anne Perry books.  I put a hold on the first one in the Pitt series, "The Cater Street Hangman"

Why do you have a different book for the bus?  The only thing I can imagine is one book is heavier than the other-lol

I keep one book in my bag for travel and the rest I read at home. Or Toyland.

DR Ron a friend of mine stated on FB she will never fly JetBlue again.  When I read the article to see why I was pleasantly surprised to see you having a discussion there.

I don't know where everyone was that is normally at the Y on a Saturday.  I am not complaining.  For the first half hour at the pool it was very quiet and I had the single lane.  My timing was good as it began to get crowded as I left.

My body ached last night and the swim felt soothing.

DR Jeanne I just received an email from the library saying "A Conspiracy of Paper" is available for me to download.  That was faster than I expected.  I downloaded 2 books already today so it will have to wait.

T.O.D.

102 MINUTES (The Unforgettable Story of the Fight to Survive Inside the Twin Towers) by Jim Dwyer and Kevin Flynn.

I found it a very touching and moving book.  The way it was told, it reminded me very much of Walter Lord's A NIGHT TO REMEMBER.  For many, it may be too soon, but it is a valuable book to have.

Thank you, DRs TCB and Vixmom!  We have just returned from dinner at one of the local Mexican restaurants.  The baby gate has been ruled out because Allie made it clear that it would not keep her from escaping downstairs.

We may have to install a door at the top of the stairs, which would also require installing a second window fan.  The whole-house fan is now in Rob and Mary Linda's living room and closing that door would prevent any air circulation downstairs.
