I neglected to thank DR vixmom for her research project last night.

I was looking for something a little more comprehensive, like ALL the Andy Hardy movies, but still - I do appreciate your efforts!       :)

Hello, everyone.

My mention of Mexican food yesterday started quite a discussion. It doesn't take much to start a food discussion on HHW.

Lies about caramelized onions (they might take longer than you think):

I'm glad DR DL Iris was able to put DR Chas' mind to rest. I'd never heard of such a restaurant.

Yes, indeedy, on the salsa verde. I first tasted it in a Mexican restaurant in San Diego and LOVED it. I tried to get the recipe from the owner, but he wasn't saying. I coerced a coworker to get the basics. It calls for tomatillos (small, green tomatoes), which I had difficulty finding, so I didn't pursue it further.

The restaurant I ate at the other day served my burrito in a salsa verde, but I found theirs a bit thin. It's not spicy, but can be very flavorful.

I don't know if salsa verde comes from certain regions of Mexico, but not all Mexican restaurants serve it.

Laura, when you're alerted to the haboob/dust storms is there anything you can actually do about it? Can you drive safely in one? (I wouldn't think so.)

Interesting.  A correct recipe would have been simple to include here, not that I need one.

I was just at the supermarket. Just for jollies, I went down the cracker aisle.

Sure enough, there on the shelf were boxes and boxes of CHICKEN IN A BISKIT!!!!!  And right next to them: BACON-flavored Ritz crackers!!!!!

They are definitely losing money from the shipping charges alone on MY Prime membership.

I will be scarce this evening; we are invited to dinner at a friend's home. We are invited WITH the dog; we are hoping that he will get along with the resident black lab, Cooper. I will try to remember to try to take a photo.

Intermission is almost over.  It's going well.  I was standing out front for a few moments and I saw a couple of cars leave.  Their loss...and there are no refunds. ;)

I hope your evening goes well.  I would be surprised if the dogs don't get along.

I spent the afternoon watching this. It has moments, and a really good cast, but i really hated the main character, Kyle Cyandler's cameo was really wnderful and I did noy recognize Jennifer Jason Leigh at all.

those are my favorite kinds of naps -- completely  unplanned; one moment watching TV or  reading a book and then  next waking up quite refreshed
