I finished today's round of organizing. And the laundry, too!

Excellent!  Please drop on by; the organizing and laundry have not yet begun.

I haven't begun either.....I do have a pork roast in the oven, though.

Well I had a pork roast in the oven.   It's mighty tasty.  Had it with potatoes and a glass of apple cider. Tastes like fall

The fire in Weed, California is 100% contained.  People were permitted to return yesterday.  The Humane Society was there to help identify the remains of pets.  The fire fighters were there to make sure everything was out and just to be there for the people to talk to.

So sad.  Did the fire move in too quickly to get pets out?

It was very fast.  If people were home they had to get out quickly.  I'm sure if they could they took there pets.  Miraculously cats have been found alive and rescued.  I haven't seen anything about dogs.

I've never read where anyone attempted to identify remains.  One more reason to microchip pets.  Of course those rescued will be returned to their people much faster.  The first day of the fire a fireman rescued a kitten and the family, who had lost everything else, where full of smiles to have their kitten back.

We often stop in Weed for a pit stop on our way home from LA and it is always windy there.  The wind unfortunately was blowing towards the town instead of away from it.

Really liked Polly Bergen, even as Elizabeth Bennett in "First Impressions."

DR Jennifer did you check the trash carefully?

The thing is they are so big that they would not fit in my small bedroom trash.

If amazon shipped for free here i would just buy a new pair.

Check the big trash.  I am shocked at the things I have found in the trash-seriously.

I did check the trash. But I was 99% sure it would not be there just because of how long the scissors are.  Also I have a waterbed. So nothing can go under the bed.

I found about 20 ice cream sandwiches in the freezer  and had about 15 kids  at meal, so I had the great joy of sneaking around the dining hall, slipping one on a child's tray  while whispering  "Say nothing!  I don't have any for the grownups!"

The memories of the surprised smiles I received will brighten many a dark moment

Reading this put a big smile on my face and warmed my heart.

I was just going to post the same thing.  Whenever you need a smile just read a post by DR Vixmom!!

Does your waterbed have a frame around it?  Did you check between the waterbed mattress and frame (assuming you were working on the bed)  I keep thinking they fell behind whatever you were working on, don't know if that's possible, but I think that every time I read your post so thought I'd say it

I was about to say what Cilla said.  I had forgotten about the water bed but what if it is tucked in there someplace and you bust the bed.  Check very carefully.

I knew the odds were against it being in the trash but it is best to check since the trash will leave home.

It has to be someplace.

I am truly moved by the fact the Humane Society was there.  As a person who has lost a pet I would rather know they had died there never to know what happened.

The Siskiyou County Public Health Department is administering free Tetanus vaccinations to any adults who lost their homes in Weed this week.
Health officials say it’s important that people who are working in the devastation get the shot to protect themselves.

Something you don't think about but is important.  I keep up on my shots and keep track of my guys because they don't do it.

Our friend is hiking the El Camino Santiago.  He is in week one of 7 weeks and already the photos are beautiful.  If his trip wasn't so long, and Keith wanted to go, I would be doing this with him.

Back from all manner of things.  I was at the Bewitched thing for about two-and-a-half hours - very disorganized today, but I had fun, sold a book, signed photographs, had a wonderful chat with Erin Murphy, the original Tabitha on Bewitched, and the original Adam from same.  In fact, in tomorrow's notes I have photographs to prove it - including the Three Adams.

Then I went the the Hamburger Hamlet - split some popcorn shrimp, although I only had three of them - eggs benedict with a tiny portion of Those Potatoes, and then a couple of drummettes - very good.

I was able to see it on FB.  I liked it and his red shirt makes a nice background for the book.

New tv shows begin tomorrow.  Has anyone seen something of interest?  I have "Madam Secretary" set to record.
