Right now it looks like I will NOT be thyroid removed. Waiting for the final results from all the blood test, but the surgeon at this time does not think it will be necessary to have it operated on. So it might be just be (more) medication I will have to take.

Had (yet another) MRI on my knee. The problems seems to be the area above the tear in my meniscus. Something has to be done (operation) because I am in constant pain. Waiting to hear what results are.

It has been a long day. The food conference was really informative and full of great recipes/ideas/food trends.

A coconut chia pudding was among the more interesting (and vegan) dishes, but corned beef brisket stew with sofrito jam may have been a favorite. Don't know how Latin corned beef is, but since it's not Irish, either, it doesn't matter.

And of the dishes demonstrated that we didn't get to try, a crispy corn quesadilla with with rajas and tomatillo salsa sounds best.

While there, I got a private tour of the new Kimpton Hotel's staging area. The hotel itself is under construction, but they have sample rooms set up and all of the dishware, etc. The chef is excellent, so I'm sure it will be a real pleasure. What I found interesting is that furnishings are a mix of nostalgic and modern. They are finding antiques that are not necessarily perfect and there are no plans to restore them.

I think the first foreign film I saw was Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast. It was on the afternoon movie and I was haunted by the image of the arms that came through the walls and held the candelabras. I didn't mind the subtitles then and I don't think I ever have. I do hate dubbed movies.

There were only 2 other people in the theatre - each alone and they both came in just as the show was starting and sat towards the front so we were wondering if they were employees and we were the only two paying patrons
