I think I'll play Sandy's CD in the car today.  I've heard it on the amazing Genelec speakers in the studio, I've heard it on my external and very good Harmon/Kardon speakers at the computer, so I think it will be interesting to hear on the car speakers.  I haven't really heard it for about eight weeks anyway, so there's that.

Richard and I have been out to replenish Mother's Scotch, take out her trash, vacuum her carpet, and wash her dishes.  Two of those 4 things should have been done for her by the housekeeping and maintenance staff, but she contends they haven't shown up.  I think she either doesn't hear them or chooses to ignore them.

Take me back to Manhatten...

Since I've got nothing else to post about:

BroadwayWorld article on Skip's HERRINGBONE CD release
http://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Yellow-Sound-Label-to-Release-BD-Wongs-HERRINGBONE-122-20141121

Strangely, when i got  to the end of that article; I kept looking to see if I could find the T.O.D.

Today in the mail, I received a box full of Frances Farmer items from someone who was cleaning out his file cabinets.

How is Mr. Barnum?

Last night we had company for dinner and then set off to hear a pipe organ recital, which turned out to be quite incredible. They had a good crowd, too.

The Twin Cities organist guild is second in size only to the NYC chapter and perhaps one other city.

So, then organs in Minnesota are bigger than in Texas?

I am trying to type with my new Dragon's stovepipe system.  I don't know how well this will work, but it is worth a try.

Just had a lovelier than lovely telephonic conversation with our very own Sandy - she was thrilled with Richard's reaction to the CD.

I'd been thinking of driving over an hour away to hear a performance of the Mahler First that a couple of friends are playing in, but I blew off that idea this afternoon.  I've been hither and yon enough for one week, especially yon, so staying in and having a nice Saturday night in the music and movie room is the perfect thing.

Somewhere on one of my hard drives, I have the piano vocal score I edited for Babes In Toyland and i cannot find it. It's making me bonkers this afternoon.  I was also hoping for a check in the post that did not arrive, so it's been a frustrating day, dammit.

I think anyone trying to type with a stovepipe should definitely NOT have his scotch replenished.

Had the editing session, which took all of fifteen minutes.  I had succinct notes about what to shorten, and we discussed the opening and closing and the music and that was that.  She can now finish it and we'll have the Indiegogo campaign up and running by Monday or Tuesday.

Just off the phone with Richard Sherman - he played the Sandy CD as soon as he got back in LA ("on the good speakers - loud") and I'm happy to say he absolutely loved the entire album.  He was thrilled with Two Roads and how it came out, and was impressed by all the songs, the arrangements and orchestrations, and Sandy's vocals.  His favorite song on the CD?  Three Acts.

Nice :)
