I just had a couple of errands for today....and they are done.  And as of now, nothing else on the calendar before the BIG DAY.

I really liked this show.

I love this show. Did you watch the last episode yet?  It was crazy.

The snow is mostly gone.  There may be some snow on Christmas Day, but the temp will be mid-thirties so it won't stay.   It's going to be in the 50's on Wednesday !

Thanks for the travel vibes !  They must have worked.  While the plane left 30 minutes late, it still arrived on time according to the schedule.  The actual flying time was about 50 minutes.

Well, DR KevinH, tell DR Kate that this kind of thing goes MUCH faster on HGTV!  We initiated this project on October 20 and I naively thought it would be complete by Thanksgiving.

From DR Cilla:
Quote
Ok, I went with the friend who will host the NYE party and another friend to see Wild.   I liked it, but liked the book much better, they both liked the movie better than the book.

Interesting, especially since I expect this to be one of the rare occasions when I prefer the movie to the book.

I am most curious to see what the plaza area of Ashland looks like.  I read that between scouting Ashland to film and the actual filming of the town scenes our "beautification" project was completed.  I can't express how dreary the "beautified" area looks.  Before filming the scenes they had to brighten up the area to make it look more like it originally did.

It's kooky enough to have to get up at six to announce, when one hasn't fallen asleep until two.  It's worse when you get up at four and can't fall back asleep.

Welcome to the regular world of many of us here ;)

BREAKING AWAY was written by the late Steve Tesich about his adolescence in Bloomington, IN. His beautiful daughter Amy is one of the best friends of my goddaughter Charlotte.

She must have been young when she lost her father.

I am assuming the "home" you claim is yours is really so

Well, we rent, but yes - that is truly where we live.

SnoopDog, I have always thought your "new home" looked magical, especially at Christmas time.

I am home from Toyland to warn you all: when you think you've hit the bottom, you can still go lower.

I got to Toyland to find that the internet was out. So, i called the server and a customer service technician tried various things before advising me it could be the Linksys router and perhaps we needed to buy a new one.  Well, even if i went out and bought one, I have no idea what to do with it.

Since the foundation appears dead and I expect the office to be closed when the lease expires in July, there's clearly no point in purchasing one and trying to get repayment from the foundation , so what the hell?

I accomplished nothing there today, another exercise in frustration.

Thank you for all the nice comments about our kitchen makeover.  We've put it back together and now we're going to fix ourselves some lunch in it.

Bye for now!

Great pictures, Ginny!  But please take the "after" pictures from the exact same positions so that we really can see the "before and after" comparisons much more easily.

Yes, I did watch it.  I had no idea that it was going to end up how it ended up.  I'm glad it did. :)
