Congrats to MR BK & Co on the bestowing of the awards!

Thanks to DR CHAS SMITH, DR GEORGE, DR FJL, DR ELMORE, and DR SINGDAW on their nice comments on the flawed video.

That was opening night, so it wasn't as smooth as it finally got.....and my leap over the back of the couch isn't fully recorded.....but there you are.

Another vote for wacky noodles at the Do.

I wonder if the neighbors are having a party again this year?

Lovely photo DR GINNY.

And lovely library photos from DR SINGDAW.  Yes I did use ALL of my energy in that performance.....it was easier on every other night, when I got applause three or four times and had a chance to catch my breath here and there.

Ginny, can your mother, in her new living arrangement, still leave the facility to attend family dinners or events?

Back from mine own errands.

Boy, is it crazy out there.  The driving, the parking, the everything.  But you know which place is the most horrendously crowded and crazy?

The liquor store!    :)

She could, DR TCB, but it's quite an ordeal getting her into our house.  She's satisfied, for now, to stay there and have us visit her.  Richard and I will be there this evening, because in my family Christmas Eve was for present-opening and was as much a holiday as the 25th.  We're celebrating Sunday with Rob and Mary Linda and the plan is to take all 5 stockings to her place and do our traditional round-robin opening routine.

Richard returned from our one errand for today - Central Pastry.  We ordered 4 dozen cut-out sugar cookies, a large wreath Stollen, and a package of Springerle (for Richard only  :P).  I've made up plates for Mom and for tomorrow's hosts (Richard's brother David and his wife Kathy in Cincinnati).  Richard also brought home a couple of extra pastries and we just had a delightful coffee break.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that on Saturday Mom will have a visit from my cousin Perry and his wife Pam who are here from Georgia.  They're staying with Pam's mother in Piqua, north of Dayton.

Good to be home.

No Graeter's, DR Ginny?

Not this year, DR ChasSmith.  There may be some Graeter's or Servatti's at tomorrow's gathering in Cincinnati.

Actually, I wasn't really concerned about your mother this year.  I was more interested in knowing all the details in case I decide to move there.  Since you told me the place comes with your own bartender, I have been giving it some thought!   ;)

Merry Christmas Eve to All!

I have been in South Carolina since December 16th.  The past week has been fraught with nothing out of the ordinary and much of the same routines as those of yesteryear's Christmases.  Another trip to Spartanburg to place flowers on graves, another fabulous lunch at
Wade's Restaurant in Spartanburg, another shopping trek to a mall outside Spartanburg for a Costco run and shopping for clothes for me.  Sigh.

And rain.  Lots of rain.  Plenty of rain.  Rain, rain, rain!  Who am I?  Joan Crawford?  Somerset Maugham?

No.  Just me in South Carolina at Christmas time.

The First Baptist Church of Johnston has FINALLY seen the light on its Christmas Eve candlelight service:  To wit, it will now be at 5 p.m. vice 6 p.m.   So many folks who wanted to attend could not because of conflicting family do's with which the 6 p.m. service conflicted.

Today at 5 p.m, my mom, my Aunt Doris and I will attend the service and then go to my cousin Debra's for our annual Christmas Eve dinner.   Tomorrow, the family will gather at my aunt's and uncle's house (across the street from us) in the afternoon.

I don't fly out until early Monday morning, so there will be much time for reflection on Christmas and everything that gets said or done.

Tonight, my mom and I open presents.  Hopefully, I will "sleep in" tomorrow.  I've been getting up at 6:30-6:50 a.m. every day. Naps are a necessity with all the early rising (early because I'm on vacation).  My mom has a routine, and I dasn't interrupt it more than I already do.

Have successfully been fighting off a head cold, but the jury is out on how many more rounds I can last.  It's always on the fringes, it seems.

I wish each and every one of you a wonderful holiday observance (or observances, dependent upon your beliefs).

Well, DR TCB, according to Mom that bartender is pretty stingy.  Better than nothing, I told her!
