If we really get a severe thunderstorm, I will get up.  I don't sleep through severe

We are back from a lovely Fathers Day luncheon.  We went to the roadhouse where we were able to walk right in and be seated.  By time we were walking out the crowds had descended .  Then we went for little drive then stopped at Carvel for ice cream before coming home

Take me straight to Carvel's!!!!!

Well, just as I'd topped off the gas tank and acquired a cold drink for sipping in the car -- I was literally five minutes from getting on the highway -- I got a call that the family get-together is called off due to illness.  We have to reschedule.  So...

I'M STILL HERE.

I hope the illness isn't anything serious.  Good thing you weren't on the road yet.

The guy who runs our local Farmers Market has been emailing me because I've been expressing my distaste with his decision to ban religious music from the market.  It's all over a specific musician, but he didn't just ban the musician, he stopped everyone else from singing anything religious....we're talking Amazing Grace here.   Anyway he's being a bit dramatic in his messages and emails.  I told him this was about him and the article in the paper about it and not about me.   He didn't seem to like that

I don't like have religion forced on me, but really those are classics and people can walk away if they don't care for the music.

There is a difference between having religion forced on you and saying no one can sing religious songs. Many folk songs are religious.  Does it include America the Beautiful?  Would God Bless America not be allowed during the 4th of July weekend?  If there was a problem with one individual, then deal with that individual, but to say no religious songs and equating them with profanity by saying "if he would have been swearing I would have asked him to stop too" is way out of line in my opinion

I agree.  It is very different than my children having to see songs about baby Jesus in public school-lol

We have been waiting for the return of THE LAST SHIP, a perfect choice for Father's Day.  This hotel is just as bad as the other one. The show begins at 9:00 on Pacific Coast Time, yet it began at 8:00 and we missed it.

Back from a fun Father's Day party with the Staitmans and their relatives.  Good food (didn't overeat) and good conversation.

We had our second big contribution to the Kritzerland a GoGo Indiegogo campaign - we'd gotten one $2,500 contribution and today, while I was gone, we got another - and the fun thing is - it was the same guy.  It put us over 40% funded and over $30,000.  We have a long way to go, but we just have to keep pushing and pushing in the final week.

Congrats, BK!  I upped my contribution. :)

George - Does that revised tip policy make them get fewer concession people willing to put in the effort?  Or does that have nothing to do with what the concession people do it for?

I don't know if we have fewer concessionaires because of it.  I know a few people have just gotten too old and some others have moved, but there have been people on both sides of the issue.  Some are (a little) upset that they no longer get to keep the tips, and others are happy that it's probably more fair for everyone (even those who never worked concessions ::) ).

Wow! I've never had this before.

As of today, the paperback edition of LANA & JOHNNY WERE LOVERS is ranked #1 in Amazon's "Hot New Releases in Playwriting," and the Kindle edition is #6.  These rankings change daily, but I will enjoy this while it lasts.

Congrats, Druxy!
