Ben, hope you can find a shorter commute.  That has to be a big adjustment after all these years

Oh, about once a day they each take a turn and get a hug, otherwise they are off doing cat things.

Since we are in a vintage photo mode, take a gander at these amazing photos of New York City's Penn Station before it was torn down:

My neighbor's son was outside when I went out so I had him come change the water bottle on my water cooler.  Very glad about that

Ginny, I know it will take me a while to recuperate, I'm just pretty stubborn and don't want to believe it. I've had two naps in my chair today.  One before I went to court and one after.  I just don't talk about the times I'm just sitting

I don't know if I've ever seen any before, but there were some incredible pictures in that set.

I have been reading Jean Pierre Aumont's memoirs Sun and Shadow, which is absolutely delightful.  His chapters on Vivien Leigh's mental struggles and breakdown during TOVARICH are fascinating and generous, given her treatment of him, and his tales of working with Cocteau, Jouvet and others in the Parisian theatre of the 1930s are amusing and spellbinding.

So, there's this neat little website about LA restaurants - not very complete and kind of half-assed, but with some nice photos here and there.  They have Kelbo's and there are nice comments and a photo of a matchbook inside with locations.  Now, as far as I and just about everyone who went to Kelbo's knew, there were two locations - TWO - the real one on Pico in West LA and the other one on Fairfax south of Beverly across from CBS.  Well, batten down the hatches, me hearties, because there were other locations - I really can't believe it, actually, but they're listed so they had to be real - the THREE other locations were Brentwood on San Vicente and 26th, Manchester and - wait for it - a mile from my home on Ventura one block east of Woodman on the south side of the street.  It's a kindergarten now and who knows if that was the original building or not.  The question is WHEN was it there, because the menu I have and all the other stuff I've found online only list Pico and Fairfax.  I love these little mysteries, don't you?

Well, I need to leave work and go downtown.  I'm meeting a fellow TAO board member because I need to write some TAO checks for reimbursements and he'll deliver them.

Be back later!

Sounds like one I'll have to get. Always enjoyed Aumont.

Listening to a Ben Bagley record. This one's a collection of DeSylva, Brown and Henderson tunes. It's just a pleasure. Dorothy Loudon, Ann Hampton Calloway, Arthur Siegel, all wonderful.
