The DH has been reading the new Madeline Kahn biography, and wanted to see some of her movies.

Netflix has only Mel Brooks's High Anxiety, and Hulu has only recaps of some of her Saturday Night Live appearances.

I am a complete dolt. The choral concert was LAST Sunday. So we missed it. But the birthday party was very nice, and I made it home in time to feed the neighbor's puppy, which was a last-minute request this morning. I will try to snap a photo to show later.

I don't think complete is the right word. ;)

I want to read that. Sad to think that her last major role was in a sitcom with Bill Cosby.

Yes. Not on any of the streaming services except Amazon, but we did watch it again last week, and still thoroughly enjoyed it.

The first several weeks we walked the Renaissance Trail here I kept yelling at the bikers to ring a bell.  I have given up since I kept embarrassing Keith-lol.  He is very sweet though as he keeps me on the edge of the path and walks the inside so he will be hit first.

Do bikers even have bells? I don't have one, but i suppose it could be useful.

Do you call out before passing people?

Only if they are blocking the way. If they are over to one side then I slow down a bit. if they have a dog or child then I have my hand on my brakes.

After my shoulder injury my balance was off and I now realize how easy it is to step out to the side.  Our real issue is with the bikes that don't slow down and you can feel the air as they zip by.  As I expected, you are
careful.

If walking a dog I face traffic and keep the dog on the grass/tree side of the walkway.

Well I have never hit anyone. :)

Although some times crazy things happen. For example last year I was biking on the bike path that is at the side of the road.  A lady was walking/jogging on the sidewalk beside the bike path. And then at the exact second i was passing her she decided without looking to walk into the street/step into the bike path. You just can't predict things like that.  There was no reason for me to slow down as i was on the bike path and she was on the sidewalk.

I find it super annoying how many people walk their dogs on the bike path when there is a sidewalk.  and when they see me coming they don't even try to move the dog onto the grass. Instead they expect me to go into the street. It's a bike path and there is a SIDEWALK. Use it.

And, DR Jane, all the bikers along the path to the river DID use their bells to signal that they were passing.

Minnesotans, on the whole, are very polite.

That makes me happy.  I would not have to be the crazy lady yelling"ring your bell".

I have honestly never seen a bike with a bell except for maybe a kid's bike.

Both my dad and one of my sisters cut their foot within the last 24 hours and apparently bled all over the place. I certainly hope these things don't run in threes.

Went to visit Mom today and took her 2 kinds of cookies - lemon crackle and oatmeal - from the Meijer bakery.  She was pleased.

Sorry, DR Singdaw, no lemon crackle pictures on their website. I think they're a limited item for summer.

This film version of Miss Julie is really intense. Loving Jessica Chastain, Samantha Morton and Colin Ferrell, even if it's depressing.
