Hey everyone - Wednesday is my day off, so I was doing day-off things. Dentist, Trader Joes, snuggling with DD, Ben and recording rehearsal tracks for Jerry's Girls. I hate recording, but once I get going, it's a piece of cake.

This was no play, and it had a couple of the "techniques" that BK hates about modern movie making (as do I, and others)...the perpetual shaky cam and whispering ALL THROUGH THE MOVIE were the worst offenses.

Also, there were three credited screen writers in addition to Shakespeare. I don't think that there were any improvements to the story, or storytelling. I couldn't really follow what was going on.

The movie was just under two hours, but there was a LOT of silence within those two hours and (again) a LOT of whispering. On the plus side, I thought that the cinematography was beautiful. It seemed to be very much a historical look for the setting. They were not clean, there was a lot of blood (some gratuitous, some not), they were outside in tents, and the shots inside actual buildings and the costumes looked period, for the most part.
