I love The Merry Widow, which is usually destroyed by opera companies in casting it for older divas wanting an easy ride, which then casts every character too maturely, and by Hollywood for making the Lana Turner version, which I have never seen complete; I usually turn off the TV in dismay after the first 10 minutes. If I want to see Lana, give me Peyton Place or The Postman Always Rings Twice.
