All the gowns worked in that commercial were better than any I have seen on stage so far tonight

I'm now actively hating everything Chris Rock is doing - and sorry the Oscars should somehow be above making fun of people.

Very happy with both supporting nominations.  I said when I wrote about Bridge of Spies that I hoped he'd win for his very subtle and understated performance.

Bridge of Spies is just good old moviemaking by people who just know how.

Okay, thank God, there's the orchestra.

So why did they have to be in the Capitol Records building in years past?

And the complete ignoring of anyone who's not current in the movies.  Seriously.  Maybe they'll show up later, but I can't stand this pandering for ratings, which I hope will be as dreadful as they deserve to be.

I saw Mark Rylance in a Broadway show several years ago but I can't think of the name of it.   I do remember how nice he was at the stage door.

Twelfth Night? Boeing Boeing? Jerusalem?

Agree.  The on-screen clues at least give me some sense of who in the HELL they are.

That last bit managed to top all the other unfunny bits - with the three kids.  If this is comedy, no thanks.

THanks, DR John G.  It was Boeing Boeing.   I just looked up his credits and realized I had seen him in La Bete too.

HATE the scrolling names.

Not one viewer in the world gives a flying Wally World about those names, except the people in the list.

That was the point of scrolling the names because no one wants to listen to the thanks for these people.
