Tom, maybe the quality of the cashews combined with how they are roasted gives them moreflavor.  Unroasted and my mouth itches.

As am I.  I have no memory like that, nor have I ever written any kind of diary or journal.  It is fascinating to read about all the things you went through.  Keep 'em comin'!

From last night...Tom, the call-back is (now) tonight, but tomorrow (Tuesday) will only happen if pug really needs it.  At least, that's what I understand what will happen.

When I first started dong plays, callbacks were very rare.  Occasionally, if there was two or more actors for a role, and the director couldn't decide who to use, there might be a callback just for that one role or maybe a couple.

And the answer to your other question is www.brownpapertickets.com.  Maybe it's just because I'm so used to it, but I find it a lot easier to use, but Jacqui, the board member who set it all up, says that it's got a lot more options for us, more reports, etc., so it's what we're using now.  The downside is that they take more of a cut of our sales than BPT, but it wasn't my decision.  I don't set up the ticket sales sites...nor do I want to. ::)

I know, but there are seven male roles and 18 or 19 men auditioned.  There was a plethora of talent.  I don't envy pug her decisions...but hopefully, I make the cut!

Oh I understand.  I was really making a comment on how automatic callbacks have become.  The callback notice is announced at the same time as the audition notice.  Often, an entire extra set of actors arrive for callback who were never at the initial auditions.

Here in Olympia, there is the Olympia Actors League (OAL), which once a year coordinates one big group audition for all the local theaters (who choose to participate).  I've heard that if someone can't make it to the OALs, then they usually can contact the theater company to see if they can come to their individual call-backs.

TAO doesn't participate in the OALs anymore.  When pug was auditioning for a show a few years ago, she contacted quite a few of the OAL auditioners for call-backs who specified that they wanted to be considered for the show and NONE of them showed up, even after confirming that they would. :P And a couple of other shows had a few OAL people come to call-backs, but again, not as many as who said that they would.  So TAO doesn't participate.  It hasn't been worth it.

I don't participate in it, either.  I would MUCH prefer to audition for a specific show than just audition and never hear anything...which has happened.

And now, I must go to bed, too.  It's officially 1:35 am, but my body thinks it's only 12:35.  I NEED to readjust my internal clock so that I don't get to work any later than I already usually do.

Good night, Tom and 1 Guest. 8)

I am enjoying the trips down memory lane. What play was it that you were in May through July of 1973? You didn't mention the play or the role

Last night I finished Season Six of DOWNTON ABBEY; I had thought the new footman Andy was intended to end up with underbutler Barrow, but I was wrong. I also was hoping someone would shut down Denker, the repellant maid, for good, and I was happy to see Sad Sack Edith's happy ending at last.  that whole continual whining Marigold plot went on far too long and worked my last nerve.
