Jane, BTW, you were at our house for dinner sometime in 71 and we at yours in 71 or early 72.

I remember that well.  We went to your house for dinner before we moved to the valley. You had an "exciting" day as your darling daughter had a fall (?) and needed a trip to the emergency room.  All was well by the time we arrived and the dinner was delicious.

After we moved you went to our place for brunch.

Okay, now I have one.   :)

It's called "Free YouTube Video Downloader 7.0" by AVN MEDIA.

I had one called YTD something that failed to work, and I uninstalled it.  I hadn't used it in a while, and that can happen with YouTube downloaders.  Either YouTube will change things to defeat them, or the company marketing them will try forcing you to upgrade to a paid version.  When that happens, nuke it and try another one.  This AVN one has been good.

Sure, if I can figure out what needs to be done.  Would you be playing it on a regular DVD player?

Do DVD players read MP4 (I'm guessing not) or does it need to be converted to MPEG or something?  I'll bet George knows the answer to this.  But I'll play around with it.

I'm downloading a DVD maker program that should do the conversion and burning.  Pray for Rosemary's Baby.

Funny stuff on the Glenn Miller group - and great when you have the guy who did the restoration sitting with the actual recording logs that have all the information that clearly state MONO.  They somehow think because Miller did a separate track of his trombone solos so the engineers would have control over it in the film's MONO mix, somehow they think when you place that against the MONO orchestra track and put some reverb on it and move the trombone to the right channel that that's real stereo - it ain't.

You'll have a lot of stuff to write about in the liner notes.

San Antonio is launching another citywide book read. The latest title is "The Book Thief," which I think is a good choice. In the few years that they've done this, the city has read "To Kill a Mockingbird," "The House on Mango Street," which was written by a former San Antonian, Sandra Cisneros, and another book written by a San Antonian about his family (I can't remember the title, but it was good memoir).

I loved that book. Great stuff. Long, but wonderful. Like a 21st century Dickens novel.

Thank you, DR Ginny!

Not only that, but I sat here and MADE myself figure out how to preserve the big moment.
Let's see if this will paste in decently....

Congratulations on your new plateau!

Can you burn me a DVD of it?

Been trying.  I have thus far been defeated by a lack of clear instruction on accomplishing this with applications that are already on my computer.  This takes but a couple of minutes when you know what you're doing.  I'm trying to achieve that level of enlightenment.

Isn't there a way to "save" or download from You Tube - I can't remember exactly.

BK, you can go to keepvid.com, paste the YouTube URL into DOWNLOAD box and you'll get a list of different file options to download.

I just remembered that I set my DVR to record "Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill."  Did anyone else watch or record this?

It looks like it's going to be shown a couple more times, at least.

And as for burning to DVD, I downloaded this free program and it can burn to DVD "over 45 file formats" without having to manually convert them to anything else.

http://www.dvdflick.net

The DVD menu options are very limited, but it works pretty well, and I've never gotten any spam e-mail or virus because of it...well, so far.
