So, if anyone is planning a trip to Europe, be sure to request a PIN for each of your credit cards (just to be on the safe side).

It's Icelandair, I think we take the polar route, but I'll double-check.

Monday morning greetings!  We are waiting for a crew to come to wash our windows inside and out.  Of course, it looks like rain...

I hired a professional window washer before selling my last house, and wondered afterwards why I hadn't done it sooner. It's nice to look out of CLEAN windows.

We were only in Tiburon for a year and never got around to doing this.  We have a very good one in Ashland and a good one in our second Michigan house, the home before Tiburon.  We had the Michigan guy twice a year.  He would change out the screens and the storm windows depending on the season.

That's what we wanted our crew to do, but when I called a couple of weeks ago, today was the first availability they had.  We couldn't wait for the screens, so Richard, Rob, and I did that part ourselves.

I'm surprised you crew, if you normally use them, didn't call you to set up an appointment.

Thanks.  I just put it on our calendar to do this.

I looked on-line and read the PIN goes with the new chip cards.  In the States we did not change to the PIN system with the chip as they did in Europe.

"Payment cards that comply with the EMV standard are often called chip-and-PIN or chip-and-signature cards, depending on the exact authentication methods required to use them. EMV stands for Europay, MasterCard, and Visa, the three companies that originally created the standard."

DR Jane, we are sporadic users of this cleaning company.  I can't afford to have this done too frequently.  Once I just had them do the 4 picture windows, 3 of which are double-paned.  They really hate doing those, especially since they broke the removable part of our bedroom window several years ago.

Then you are lucky they do your windows at all during the busy season ;)

Regarding the PIN in Europe.......

Keith's cousin, who travels a lot, has never needed it.  It also seems, after a bit of searching, that Copenhagen likes to have a PIN ;D

We made peach cobbler in a slow cooker today.

We have vanilla ice cream, as well.

A very find near-the-end of our Monday.

i had a very different Monday from yours.

Watching Eddie Cantor in "The Kid from Spain." Robert Young is a Latin lover with an awful mustache. And Bette Grable is in the chorus along with Paulette Goddard. Kalmer and Ruby did the songs. It's silly but fun.
