I am always saddened when the PBS season is over. I'll miss CALL THE MIDWIFE, GRANTCHESTER, and MR SELFRIDGE. I usually use the summer months to catch up on shows I missed, some of which were popular before my birth.

Any suggestions for good TV shows from the last five or so years? (Don't care for futuristic stuff.)

Miranda Hart, whom I dearly miss on CALL THE MIDWIFE, had her own show called MIRANDA.  It ran from 2009-20015.  Have you watched it?  We haven't but I am curious about it.

I watched the first season of MIRANDA on Hulu. I loved the show; I love Miranda Hart. But Hulu?! You need to subscribe or you're inundated with commercials.

Thanks.  I will ask Keith to search for it.  I still haven't a clue how to navigate our new system.

Well, I'm off.  Tonight is the one and only rehearsal for Theater Artists Olympia's "Words, Words, Words: The Elizabethan Poets."  We only have two performances on Friday and Saturday.  Since it's all just readings, there's not a lot to rehearse.  I'm running the sound AND the lights!  I've never run lights before, at least, not at The Midnight Sun.  It's supposed to be very easy...just lights up and down...and preshow, then intermission music.  Simple.

Be back later.

In the next couple of days Keith will likely put some pretty photos on my facebook page.  DR George, or anyone who wants too, please share some of them here.

I ordered from an Amazon vender yesterday a DVD that I would swear was priced at $9.95.  I was invoiced for $119.00!

I have spent the last 45 minutes on line and on phone about this issue.  30 minutes was spent trying to find the means to contact Customer Service.  It used to be much easier.

You can always give it to me. :)

I woke this morning with a scratchy, sore throat. I think I've had a fever most of the day.

It made dance practice actually better before I just let go and did whatever I was told to do.

Guess I have to get sick more often. :)

The rehearsal is just everyone reading their pieces.

The light and sound will only change at preshow into the first act, and then into and out of intermission...and maybe bows/exit music.

I've started watching Passage to Marseille, which has Humphrey Bogart, Sydney Greenstreet, Claude Rains and Peter Lorre, all from Casablanca back together again. It's nowhere near as good (what is?), but it is good.

Scott, the director, brought some MP3s of lute music.  It's all from one CD, so it all fits together very well.

A favorite bakery in town is opening a second location, and I got invited to a press preview. Had a half trout confit sandwich (think of tuna salad made with fresh fish) and a half pimento cheese, plus a pistachio macaron (not macaroon) as well as a handmade moon pie. I was happy.

Of course not. The diabetic needed his sugar.

I think it will be fun...a bit sedate, but people will enjoy it.  And most of the pieces are short.  I think the longest is probably not even three minutes long.
