Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of an anniversary, and now it is time for you to post until the anniversary cows come home.

TOD:  The least pleasant labor was the least pleasant because it was an arduous commute from Coney Island in Brooklyn to Far Rockaway, and then a long walk from the train, (but even at that job I felt I learned quite a bit from the work itself).

Most pleasant labor was doing the "Last Starfighter" at the Village Theatre in Issaquah (near Seattle); it was such fun to do nothing for a period work-wise but work on the show, and as a super-delightful bonus got to have a very rare mini-HHW get-together with TCB and George (and I'd also gotten to meet PennyO on another Issaquah trip).

Least pleasant, hard to say....

Most pleasant, in terms if results, although most physically exhausting and painful, resulted in me holding the Vixter in my arms

TOD:

Most unpleasant:  Any type of farm or garden work....ugh.  I also worked in a factory for about two weeks.....not my thing.

Most pleasant:  Writing of any kind.....working on a "Show" with like minded people.

I had so many shit summer jobs in college - paper factory, steel mill - and Ohio in the 1970s - delivery truck driver - that I consider myself very fortunate that my last 37 years of employment have been mostly things I've enjoyed.

TOD:

I think scraping the paint off the side of our garage was the worst work ever. Some was ready to come off, but a lot of it wasn't.

I think writing the two books was the best, even with all the sturm und drang with deadlines, etc. Actually, the research for the barbecue book was even more pleasurable than that.

The Kritzerland at Sterling's 70th anniversary show was wonderful! There's not much I can say that Bruce hasn't already said. Richard Sherman's song about hygiene was hilarious and he was reading the lyrics, but got a little bit tongue-tied in the middle of it and then quickly said, "Who wrote these lyrics?!" which got a big laugh out of the audience.
The two new men in the show were great and I look forward to seeing them again. "Love Revolution" is one of my favorite musical theater songs and it's almost never sung, so it was great hearing it again for the first time in years.
Bruce did a great job filling in for Guy Haines. His voice sounded great, as always, and he handled the complicated and wordy "The Maladjusted Jester" with aplomb.

TOD:
I'm forever plagued by yard work that never ends. I really should hire a gardener, but since I already have a house cleaner (who only comes once a month), I feel a gardener would be frivolous.
The dog grooming that I do on weekends is both the best labor and the worst labor all rolled into one. It's wonderful petting the dogs (with the occasional adorable puppy) and making them clean and beautiful. It's not so wonderful getting bit and scratched and picking up dog poop.
