Eight hours on the road, followed by several hours of family and an okay and very filling Mexican dinner and a couple of margaritas, leaves me with energy to do little else BUT say good evening.

Interesting about the food dishes at the Catalina jernt in Hollywood.

I was in there but once back in the late 1980s prior to moving east.  Don't even remember who I saw or heard there.

Tomorrow begins with -- hopefully -- buckwheat pancakes at this wonderful mom and pop joint we all love.

It's buckwheat season here, you see, and the area's annual buckwheat festival (consisting of what, exactly, I don't know except that it means lots and lots of buckwheat pancakes which I love) begins sometime next week.

After that, a photo tour of the various houses we and/or our parents or other relatives grew up in.  And perhaps a visit to spectacular Cooper's Rock.  We'll see.

Watching a classic from 1984: Brakin', now on Blu and Ray with Breakin' 2: Electric Bugaloo.

Wow. How could I have missed this one? Making up for lost time. I did recognize a very young Ice-T as one of the performers.

The last was green mango marinated in salt and cayenne pepper. Yes, it was very spicy, but it may have been my favorite. If I make it again, I'll up the heat.
