Actually...

It's been kind of strange/neat... But in the two weeks I've been back from LA/Houston/NYC, I've actually lost seven pounds!

I know I've been walking each day - at least two miles each day - but I've also been making stops at the bakery, bread store and grocery store along the way. In any case...

One place should be fine for me at Joe Allen!

Years ago, our neighbor's dog hurt himself and she put him in a baby carriage to take him for walks. He liked it so much that she kept on walking him in it after he recovered. We still see her rolling her dog around the neighborhood.

Don't know if any DRs are familiar with this actor, David Baily, or not, but he evidently drowned on Thanksgiving. He appeared on several soap operas over the last 40 years, but I recal him from guest spots on TV shows like Dennis the Menace and Hazel.

He just began a role on the series PASSIONS this year which is a show I have not seen, but that I have heard mentioned on this here board.

Yes, TAR was good tonight. In fact, I may be hooked now. Unfortunately, since I start rehearsals this Thursday, tonight was my last night to catch it. And there's goes the rest of my Prime Time TV viewing too..

DR Jane: If you have trouble finding anything Echo will eat, ask your vet for a product called "AD." Expensive, but animals that won't eat will usually chow down on it. They also like meat baby food. Also expensive, but it usually works.

I nursed many tiny sick kittens through illnesses with AD and baby food.

CARNIVALE is among the strangest shows I've ever watched. It's a fascinating amalgamation of melodrama, spiritualism, and religious symbolism all tied up in the weirdest running plots you'll ever see. Bizarre is about the best word I know to describe it.

A friend and I spent hours of time trying to piece together all the symbolism and make sense of it until I was so twisted in knots that I was confounded. About 2/3 of the way through the season, I just stopped trying to figure it all out and just decided to enjoy it for its quirky uniqueness and the melodramatic turns of story. The symbolic layer was just too much for my feeble brain to comprehend.

I couldn't get into it either. It was almost too gritty for me. However, Steve was hooked on it, and I had some other friends who made it part of their Sunday night TV viewing.

I'd say give the opening episode a viewing and go from there.

This weekend, as I was putting up the Festivus Pole at mom's, I listened to one of the Christmas with the Chipmunks recordings. I haven't listened to it in years, and I was kind of amazed by the very nifty song arrangements that Capitol afforded on what was pretty much a novelty act. I meant to check out who worked on it, but I didn't.

I was channel hopping when I came across NBC's Christmas at Rockefeller Center, which I had planned on deliberately avoiding because I can't take most of the musical guest stars slated to appear. I happened upon it just as Tony Bennett was shivering his way through a rather nondescript holiday tune. I hopped around some more and came back in time to catch Jessica Simpson completely destroying some Christmas song. What a poser! Sheesh! I quickly came up with about 25 names of much more talented people I would rather see entertain at a tree lighting.

DR Tomovoz, I do not have HBO, so I can't offer any personal opinion on Carnivale. I have heard, though, that if you liked Twin Peaks, you would probably like this show.
