Well, you've read the notes, the notes were stuffed to the gills, and now it is time for you to post until the stuffed cows come home.

I would love to go to  Ruth Chris.  I have heard their steaks are to die for.

T.O.D.

I think probably the best steak I have ever had was at the Space Needle in Seattle.

TOD:
Other than at home, the best I can recall was at the West Bank Cafe at 43rd St near 9th Avenue.  I don;t remember whether it was a special or on the menu at the time, but it was extraordinary.

The most consistently great steaks have been at the (somewhat pricey) Shula's Steak House, though.

Frugal Consumer Hint:  if you order one of the larger steaks and another non-steak dish and share both, assuming you don't have liquor, you can get out of Shula's with a fairly reasonable bill.
But if everyone orders steak and some or many have wine or liquor, then it becomes very very pricey.

TOD:

I've had so many great steak dinners over the years that it would be impossible to say which was the best.

So, I will award that honor to my wonderful wife, Sandy, who cooks a damn good steak.

Got some garage cleaning to do today, just straightening up and basically being ready with supplies for winter storms.  (Wash my mouth out for even saying that word.)

I've enjoyed several superb to-die-for steaks over the years, and for the life of me I can't tell you with any certainty where they were.

One non-restaurant one comes to mind.  A friend in this area, who sadly passed away several years ago, threw a summer party for which he spent a fortune at Stew Leonard's on a large number of gigantic restaurant-cut rib eye steaks, then he personally prepared and grilled them to medium/medium-rare perfection over ... I forget what kind of wood, but ... it was perfection on a plate.

I slept rather well last night ntil around 3:15, when I had a panic attack about the GOP plans to destroy Medicare and Social Security.  I was awake for too long a time before I snapped out of the panic.

I believe Rob Berman is coming by today, but until he does, I will work on this Guys & Dolls piano-conductor score.

I'm waiting for Netflix to deliver the next disc of A Place to Call Home, so I watched half of the BBC version of The Tenant of Wildfell Hall.  Good cast, but it's not holding my interest.

Yesterday evening I picked up some fresh everything bagels and some scallion cream cheese.

Guess what I'm having right now.

Hmmmm......I don't order steak often when I go out.....because I like mine well done....and I don't think steak chefs like to cook them that way......

Not burnt!!!!  Well done!!!!

I do remember a very nice steak that I had once in a restaurant in Baltimore - I do not remember the name of it.....it was well cooked and the sides were very well done, too.

Behind the living room fireplace my parents had a built in BBQ.  Steaks were never my favorite but ones cooked at home were as good as the best restaurants.

DR Jrand all our steaks were served medium rare but you could have asked for it to be cooked longer.

Saturday morning greetings!  Just stopping in for a quick HI before we head to Springboro for the Haines birthday bash.  Niece Rev. Amy's kids all have December birthdays (today is Rachel's 4th), so there's a big family gathering.  Their Great Aunt Ginny has a birthday tomorrow and Great Uncle David's (Richard's brother) is Friday.  We are considerably older than today's guests of honor...

Me, too.  But my favorite is the bacon-wrapped filets that I cook right here at home.
